From what I have heard about this kid, he sounds kind of like his ceiling is close to Krstic.  Not bad at that point in the draft, but I am not blown away.

NJ Krstic or return to the NBA Krstic?

Return to the NBA Krstic.  He is about as athletic as the current Krstic.

I think Vucevic is strictly a 5, too slow and deliberate to play the 4 in most cases. I would prefer Jajuan Johnson, Jeremy Tyler, or Nogueira at 25. Not sure why Johnson isn't getting more attention in this draft, he was solid all 4 years in college and he can play inside-out.
You are no longer black, or brown, or yellow, or red! You are now GREEN, you are light GREEN, or dark GREEN!

I think Celtics nation should stop trying to predict who Danny is going to draft for the simple fact that I don't think we've ever predicted correctly when Danny picks in the last first/second round... I mean... who would have predicted BBD and JR Giddens?

Giddens was a surprise, but BBD wasn't really.  He and McRoberts were basically the guys who everyone was clambering for as the pick was approaching.

Going back further, Banks and Perkins were heavily rumored before the draft.  Rondo was a guy Danny had been connected to for a while.  Walker and Gomes were both guys the C's were rumored to be interested in.

If I am guessing I think the pick is between three players. Trey Thompkins from Georgia, Kenneth Faried from Moorehead State or Marshon Brooks from Providence.

Why?

Who knows, just a feeling. Can anyone really tell with Danny Ainge?

Given the limited amount of players that are expected to go in a pick's range, almost everyone possible has been "rumoured" at one point or another.

Marshon Brooks is a self proclaimed Lakers and Kobe fan. No thanks. He actually specified that he did not want to play for the Celtics while at Providence.

My guess is that Paul Pierce wasn't too high on becoming a Celtic when in college either. After he got picked, that changed.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I think he has a bit of a higher ceiling than Kristic. . .
depends which one is taller... ::)

but i would be happy getting a clone of krstic at pick 25 in this crappy draft.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

I wouldn't mind him with our pick but I wouldn't be shocked if he isn't there when we pick.

If I had to guess I think they probably go international with this pick. This would allow them to load the team with veterans and bring over the prospect when he is ready.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Exactly.  Which is why I see nothing wrong with trying to predict it.  Other than Giddens and some late second round picks, Danny hasn't been one to take major reaches.
