The Perk trade at least had some justification since we would not have been able to afford him this Summer.

Would a Perk for Jeff Green trade instead of all this shenanigans have got us any further in the playoffs?


If he had not traded the other guys, we would've not been in such a deficit at the PF. I loved Semih too.

Nope, not at all.

Semih was useless the rest of the year because of injuries, and I am not sure he will be back in the NBA next year...and even if he is, he is still VERY mediocre.

Harangody is an end of the bench player, and probably always will be.

And Nate...well, I just never felt too comfortable with him.  He is the guy they missed the most, but I still don't think he would have made a difference.

Looking back, I don't think Green played that poorly, compared to how he played before.  The problem was they really weren't fully able to integrate him, so he didn't have the impact he should have had.

Nope -- (1) Happy to see the back of Erden + Harangody. They were replaced by better players who offered the team more. Delighted to pick up a valuable draft pick for them (good value / talent available in those early second rounders most years).

And, (2), A little disappointed to lose Nate because I liked how he and Delonte played together. But not a big deal. I was happier to have Krstic (post-Perk) than keep Nate so I was happy that he was included in the end. But he could have offered the team something, unlike Erden and Harangody who were very poor players. Plus, I liked the later additions that arrived (T.Murphy, C.Arroyo, S.Pavlovic).

it was pretty much all equally bad.  The injuries absolutely destroyed our depth ; I dont think there is a move we could have made that would have saved the season

Semih and Luke are not NBA level players in my opinion.  Nate seems like a guy who could bounce around for a few years but doesn't appear he'll ever be an established bench player in the league (too inconsistent).

The lose of Perk and Nate hurt because I think both fit well with this team.  (Nate next to West no longer having to worry about being the offensive PG, but a scorer)



The other two, not so much.   





Green not fitting with this team the way we had hoped also hurt.

Come on, Nate played his way out of Boston; Semih was damaged goods; Gody is nowhere near the player Davis is. Semih and Gody were scrappy for us, but we're talking about winning a title. They were not going to be factors in the rotation, and their absence amounts to a combined $975k in TPE that could be used for trades.

If the deadline moves didn't happen we were looking at Nate, Perk, Shaq, JO, Semih and D. West on IR going into the Clippers game that Saturday night. Therefore, the roster would have been stacked with more d-leaguers than just Chris Johnson. That #1 seed was slipping away regardless of the trades, and there just wasn't enough time to work Green's skills into the system.

Yeah, agreed. You cant really knock Green for the way he played... He never really played bad at all really. He went from playing 35 minutes a game to about what, 17 - 18? if that. People were expecting him to put up the same numbers that he did in OK in half the minutes he was playing here and thats not fair. He played well, just didnt get enough minutes.


To answer the original post. No. Semih was much worse than Kristic, Harangody should have been in the D League, I would take Troy Murphy over Gody ANY day. And Nate was fun and exciting but West was going to get his minutes regardless and even Arroyo was a better point guard then him.

Semih, Gody, and Nate wouldnt even have been in the rotation during the playoffs (like Arroyo and Murphy). So it really wouldnt have had much positive effect on the court.

any ball movement is 100x better than what baby gave us.  i can't remember how many times the ball got passed to him in the post and he either turned it over or hoisted up a low percentage shot. it got so that i would cringe whenever i saw him get the ball in the post.
