I know everyone travels, but LeBron is the worst. For those of us who really appreciate basketball, watching this guy take three steps down the lane and dunk it ruins the credibility of the game.

It seems to me that the people who "really appreciate basketball" seem to understand the traveling rules less than they think they do.

Ironically, most of what people think are travels really aren't. On the other hand, there's a traveling violation committed on virtually every trip down the court caused by players:
1) shuffling their feet
2) catching the ball while moving and taking several steps before stopping and establishing their pivot foot

So yeah, Lebron has gotten away with a couple of travels, but probably not the ones you're thinking of.

No. He has taken three steps to the basket on drives twice tonight. Is three steps not a travel?

Officials usually call players for shuffling their feet. They don't call three step dunks, however.

If Lebron played in the 60's-80's where the rules were stricter for an offensive player to do anything they wanted, he would be just an average player who came off the bench to make highlight dunks

Yeah I said it lol

Post-Celtic elimination, this blog should temporarily rename itself "LeBron Envy".  I might register lebronenvy.com and have it forward to celticsblog

It is a miracle. They have called LeBron for a couple of travels so far.

Not envious at all. If I were so full of myself like James is, I'd probably go buy a rope and find a tree.

Look at all the violations he his victim of. the 60's-80's era was more stricter than that. It'll be harder for him to dominate like he does now

what I find more frustrating are all the palmings that everyone seems to do.

Lebron's drives to the basket are like freight train moves.  People are afraid to draw the charge because they know they probably won't get the call.

LeBron just clearly traveled on his three point shot with 4.4 left in the fourth quarter. Whatever. It's James. Don't call it.

Dallas attempt to stop the "LAUNCHS" of WADE and LBJ is pathetic .   Somebody got to step in front of them and make them earn those show boat dunks.

They have to know it might hurt if they dunk the ball .  Giving them free lanes to the basket is no way to play defense.

BIGS on ALL the teams need to make these two showboats PAY when they sail into the paint , knock down a few times they 'll get the message.

I would say James travels on average six or seven a game that go uncalled.

Frankly, the complaining about officiating is ridiculous. I caught the second half of this game, and if Boston were playing Dallas, and Dallas got half the calls they got in this game, this message board would shut down. The refs were absolutely the only reason Dallas was still in this game, calling an incredible number of ticky-tacky 50/50 touch fouls against Miami, allowing Dallas to get into the bonus and shoot unearned free throws that kept the game close, while ignoring blatant contact on Dallas's defensive end. It was terrible, and Dallas EASILY got the benefit of contact/no contact calls. No contest.

Considering this play http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zvxIazBszYs&feature=related I think I have a right to be a little envious / bitter regarding LeBron and his constant blatant traveling.
