Afflalo and Chalmers are examples of solid hard working college players from good programs who have continued to hone their craft and become major contributes.
Chalmers has had a very shaky pro career so far in MIA. He's really playing out of necessity since MIA has no other options, and his position has always been considered a need meaning MIA would prefer to upgrade him.
He's just playing on a winning team right now and getting credit due to the "winning" part. The C's made guys like House and Posey look like "great role players" when they were here, but after they left everyone forgot about them.
Afflalo on the other hand is a very serviceable player. He'll likely land a long term contract with a siginficant dollar total given his age and breakout year.
