Shaq never played with a PG like Rondo in his entire career. Neither has Dwight.

Well, it wasn't just Rondo who got Shaq open looks.  It was having Shaq as the 5th offensive option *and* having a point guard with court vision and passing skills to get him the ball in good spots.

If we brought Dwight here, the point guard would remain the same.  However, the big question would be whether the Celtics had the other pieces around him to be successful.  Right now, I don't think Jeff Green + Avery Bradley is a competitive foundation.

Paul will still be playing. Ray might still be playing. Once KG retires there will be a lot of cap space. There's always quality wings out there on the market (free agent or trade), I don't think Avery Bradley will be playing 30+ minutes as a starter in just a year or two.

I believe you are saying the Celtics have a chance at landing him.  And I would agree with you.  Obviously, they are gonna need a few more role players to entice Howard to come, but it is possible.
