I'll believe it when I see it.

I've said it before I'll say it again.

He's going to be a bust, a European Telfair.

All hype and no production.

He sucks. Plain and simple.

He averaged like 7 points, and 4 assists last season in the Euro leagues. He's on the decline, just getting worse. No wonder Kahn wants him to play.

Ricky Rubio is coming to Minnesota after all.

The Spanish point guard has agreed to join the Timberwolves next season, ending a two-year negotiation with the team that had a few stops and starts.

A person with knowledge of the agreement confirmed to the Associated Press on Wednesday night that Rubio will play in the NBA next season. The person requested anonymity because neither Rubio nor the Timberwolves planned to make an official announcement while he continues to play for Regal Barcelona in the Euroleague playoffs.

well i guess that was the same rumor so at least now i see where it comes from

I believe that Rubio wants to play but, if there is a lockout, I expect him to remain in Europe.

Top European teams like Barcelona will want answers from their players early in the process (early to mid July) so that they can plan for their upcoming season. If there is any type of lockout, that deadline will come too quickly for Rubio so I would expect him to take the guaranteed money / playing opportunity in Barcelona instead of crossing his fingers and hoping the lockout thing works out in time to give him a full season with Minnesota.

If there is no lockout, I fully expect Rubio to come over to the NBA this summer.

While I never understood the speculation of some that he doesn't want to play in Minny (seemed pretty obvious that the cost of the buyout was the issue for him), I need more than just rumors before I accept that he is paying Barcelona a million bucks for the chance to not play basketball during the lockout.

Then again, I don't know the kind of contract he would get playing for Barcelona.

Brandon Jennings had similar numbers.  Rubio is still very young, and most NBA scouts think the potential is there for him to be a very good player.

I think the lockout will probably prevent him from coming to the NBA this season, though.

You would think that people would know by now not to blindly extrapolate numbers from Europe.

Well the truth is that he did had an awful season

But the talent is there. I think he needs motivation and Europe can`t offer that. He is 20-22 years old and has already won everything. I`m not saying he is going to be this generation Kukoc or Peja but i would rush calling him a bust

I'm uncertain of whether or not Ricky Rubio will ever prove the naysayers wrong that he belongs in the NBA. Nonetheless, this has to be good news if you're a Minnesota fan.

Jonny Flynn will more than likely be traded.  With Ty Lawson already being traded, the Rubio signing must payoff.  Now, if I'm Minnesota, I keep the 2011 first round pick and select Derrick Williams.  Next, I trade Michael Beasley who's contract expires after next season.  Also, Darko Milicic isn't the answer at center so they must attempt to acquire a legitimate starting center from the Beasley trade.  For instance, some players who could become available via a trade include Chris Kaman and Andris Biedrins.  I would even consider Robin Lopez if he too is an option.

but why trade beasley? he had a strong year, showed allot of improvement and things to come

I don't know what you could expect back for Johnny Flynn.
