i love ray but i remember when we were close to aquiring him for ray straight up ! a few years ago & lets face it knowing what we know now we shouldve done it theres a few links on hoopshype.com about it i didnt really know which was more appropriate to post ..

from what i read they want to build around curry
so this means only way we can even be in the discussion is if we take on beidrins large contract but i think ellis is worth it give them alot of espiring deals & picks & who knows /

Boston Gets:Monta Ellis ,ANdres Beidrins

GS gets:Ray Allen(exp contract),j.o(exp contract),shaq(exp contract) & avery bradley ,the clippers pick,a future 1st rounder ,future sacremento 2nd rounder

why for boston ? monta ellis can score on anything thats why

why for GS:though they probably will get a better offer from chicago or memphis they can see this as major cap relief & if ray allen stays and dosent get bought out (hopefully comes back) a vet that can teach steph curry the way & 3 picks to help thier building process

yes maybe a pipe dream but like i said in the title we at least have to try !

Do you have any links regarding him being on the market?  Seeing the actual articles can help us know whether this is an actual rumor, or just speculation by bloggers.

Also, regarding the rumors of the C's being interested in him a couple years ago, it was a lot of speculation, but from what I remember, Golden State wasn't actually interested in trading him, particularly not for what the C's were offering.

Tim Kawakami wrote a thought-piece today that Jerry West has been brought in to facilitate a Monta Ellis trade.

Nothing concrete about Ellis being available. More of a "tea leaves" kind of article from TK.

They would be looking for a young player, not cap space.

For the Celtics, will the super small backcourt work?

Umm idk how I would feel about Monta. Seems like he would clog things up since Rondo is our primary ball handler. Just not sure how he would play off the ball. I love Monta don't get me wrong, but I think with Rondo playing it would be tough for him to be able to play the style he wants. I would love to see those two on the break together though.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
They ought to trade Monta and Ekpe Udoh for Rudy Gay, or look to trade Monta for Marc Gasol straight up after a S&T.

The new owner of the Warriors have already stated that the Curry and Ellis backcourt is safe for now. What Kawakami has done is offer a suggestion.

I dont think so. I like Ellis but hes a shooting guard in a point guards body.

Can't see Jerry West helping him come to Boston unless it was a rip off deal for the Celtics. I think to acquire Monte it has to be a deal centered around Jeff Green. He is the type of guy they would be looking for in return for Ellis.

Ellis would be a sick sixth man though..

Monta Ellis is a headcase who could not share time with Curry.  Ray is a hall of famer who can play with anyone, a proven leader and the NBA three point king.

Ill keep Ray thank you very much.

If they trade him for Green, they did not get good value.

Chad Ford just threw out an interesting idea: Monta for the #2 pick.

Would need to be some filler from Minnesota to make it work.

That is both interesting an stupid at the same time, for the T-Wolves at least (for the Warriors it might just be brilliant).

Interstupid.

Monta Ellis is the exact type of player I would NEVER want on this club.

Michael Jordan ruined an entire generation or more of talent with his give me the ball and get out of my way approach to offensive basketball.

Allen Iverson
Monta Ellis
Gilbert Arenas
Carmelo Anthony
Every shoot first point guard of the last 20 years

The list goes on and on.

Every one growing up thinking they are MJ and mimicking his selfish way of basketball.
