  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Over 300 pounds and not much basketball experience? I'm very skeptical about any success he would have in the NBA.

It's a cute story, but there seem to a bunch of bigs in this year's draft that have potential to be legitimate contributors, guys who are actually basketball players.

DKC Seventy-Sixers:

PG: G. Hill/D. Schroder
SG: C. Lee/B. Hield/T. Luwawu
SF:  Giannis/J. Lamb/M. Kuzminskas
PF:  E. Ilyasova/J. Jerebko/R. Christmas
C:    N. Vucevic/K. Olynyk/E. Davis/C. Jefferson

340lbs sounds like he'd be a stick next to Glenn Davis and would be absolutely dwarfed by Shaq.

Is it that crazy?

Dwight Howard had zero offense before. Considering that this guy is humongous and has great agility and speed, is it such a bad idea? Offense can be learnt. Defense and rebounding on the other hand takes desire, determination and...size, especially for a big man.

The free agency is barren for us as the big men available are few and far between. Draft picks are draft picks, you never know what to expect outside the top five.

In every single rosy scenario that looks great on paper for us, there is a great chance that it might not happen.

We want Dwight Howard but why would Dwight Howard go to Boston when he can earn bigger money or play with younger stars elsewhere and at the same time...not be cold? (I know he said he was going to stay but LeBron said he was going to stay before he made his "Decision") Other teams have better things to offer for a trade. Greg Oden, who I personally consider is one of the more attainable centers for the Celtics who will make a difference, will have at least four or five other pursuers despite his injuries.

All I'm saying really is that beggars can't be choosers. Danny gambled and lost Perk and now we're going to have to seriously consider this guy.

There is a chance he might be the guy, though.

This off-season is killing me.

This off-season is killing me.

AGREED!!!!!! stuck watching and hoping the Mavs win it all, some how. Reading and thinking about all these crazy trades. looking at free agency and who we can get with the little room we have. AND all of it can change with new rules or a lockout....O then there is the draft, weak or not it has potential. On top of that we are talking about signing a football player to play basketball!?!?! This is all crazy, i just wanna see Truth, Ray Ray, and KG win another ring, get Boston banner 18, and retire as celtics, and it would be nice if we could develop for the future too!!!........I'm slightly exhausted lol :P

If he shows the athleticism, why not take a second round flyer on the lad?  Most big men take some time to mature into their game, why not send the kid to D League and see what they can make of him?  Besides, he's got one hell of a resume' as a player and it would be nice to have 340lbs of intensity in Green.

A guy who hasn't played basketball since high school sounds like the perfect fit for the Celtics at center --  ::)

So this guy's gonna lug 340 pounds up and down the court all game.

I highly doubt he'd make it 5 times before they'd need to get the oxygen tank out for him.

He'd need to lose some bigtime weight before he could ever play basketball.
