This is interesting - Broussard and Bayless yelling at each other over whether LeBron respects MJ or not.

But what's most interesting to me...Bayless asks why LeBron changed his number when he got to Miami as a point that LeBron doesn't respect Michael.

Broussard and Crawford both theorize for awhile as to why etc etc...

I was shocked because no one bothered to mention to Bayless that Jordan's number is retired in Miami and therefore couldn't be taken by LeBron. If you are a casual basketball fan, you might not remember that off the top of your head. But if you are an NBA beat reporter, you don't remember that MJ's number was among the first to be retired in Miami? You don't remember LeBron saying afterwards that they should retire his number in all arenas?

Very surprising.

More surprising is that so few people care about Skip Bayless and Chris Broussard.  ::)

Or is that really surprising?

First of all, Jordan was a great player...But he's no Jackie Robinson. He's not even a George Mikan, for God's sakes.  He has less titles than Russell.   What Jordan pioneered was far from virtuous.  This ridiculous star officiating started with him...It's just been double, tripled, quadrupled-down to pure foolishness.  Why any franchise other than Chicago would retire his number is patronizing and silly.

Bayless, Broussard, hill, steven i smith, Stuart Scott,  the Jackson brothers, Johnson, etc etc sound exactly the same to me.

Lebron said that he would change his number this year even before he picked Miami. Of course, conspiracy theorists will say that Lebron chose Miami a long time ago but I'm just saying the facts.

+1 TP. I just wish I could give you more on this topic.

In my opinion, he doesn't want to be remembered as the guy with the same number as Jordan. I guess he forgot all about Doctor J!

I just did a double take at the "Miami retired Jordan's jersey" bit and had to do some quick research.  Not only was it among the first Heat jerseys to be retired, it was the freaking FIRST one in franchise history!  The first jersey they ever retired was of someone that never played for them, isn't from there, and never had anything to do with the organization ever, apart from maybe smacking them out of the playoffs a few times.  That is one of the most pathetic things I've ever learned.
"When I was a rookie, [Bird] and Kevin McHale were arguing.  So I asked Kevin McHale what they were arguing about.  And he says, 'we're just trying to figure out who you're going to guard.'  I said, 'what you mean?' and he said, 'oh, you're dead meat, rook.'" - Charles Barkley

-Chris Broussard is from Cleveland
-Micheal Jordan had a history of destroying Cleveland in the playoffs a bunch of times, breaking the hearts of their fans

This is where the hate comes from. Broussard does think Jordan is the greatest, but he's dying for someone to take Jordan's throne
