What about Jordan Hill for Avery Bradley? Houston needs PGs, and we need a big PF/C to train at the KG academy for back up purposes in 2012. We can re-sign Carlos Arroyo who is a better fit anyway: give AB a chance to get his game up.

Not a bad idea, but the salaries don't match up. Would need to add more to match Hill's salary.

Throw in whoever as a sign and trade.

Bradley for Hill does not work. Who do you add to Bradley to make the salaries work?

It would have to be a sign and trade, so why does it matter? Troy Murphy? Sasha Pavolvic?

But why would Houston take either player via a sign and trade? Would they really value Bradley that much? Neither player figures to crack Houston's rotation.

it would hard for the Celtics to let Avery go without fully knowing what he is capable of. So far we know he can do two things: Avery can score & play lights out D. If he can improve his ball handling Avery game goes to another level. That was the one area that held him back in his rookie season, that or playing on veteran team being coaching by Doc Rivers I digress. Avery showed promise toward the end of the season improving it. For that reason, I would be hesitant moving him just yet.

Anyone else see a lot similarities Between Avery Bradley & Russell Westbrook? I'm huge Russell Westbrook fan despite what everyone says. He has some shortcomings but Russ is freaking beast. Going back to their college careers of lack thereof. Both had iffy college careers came to the NBA without a lot of doubt. They have the same built (6'3-6'4) freakish athleticism (37" vertical) huge wingspan (6'8 ) By nature both are scoring guards being molded into a point-guard. Both are pesky defenders. anyone? anyone???

Realistically, I doubt it would be a huge holdup.  If a S&T was needed to make salaries work (and we're talking about approximately $1 million here or less), the Celtics could simply send $1 million along in the trade, and then the Rockets could buy the new player out.  Or, they could trade Shaq if he plans on retiring.

As for the merits, Hill has probably shown more NBA flashes, but I think Danny wants to give Bradley a chance this year.

Agreed. If traded AB's contract will be that of a 'throw in' to consummate a larger deal. At this point all you're offering is potential, and if he does make progress next season he's more of an asset to use in future deals. Doubtful he'll be picking up the peanut butter even if he can't crack next years' rotation and they do have a team option in year three. J. Hill is a worker bee, but in addition to the salary deficiency that would be needed to consummate the proposal Houston would demand more than just an unproven 12th man.

If we could score Jordan Hill for Avery Bradley and another end of the bench guy, I think that would be a major score.  I don't see why Houston would do that, though.  Jordan Hill has the potential to be a really good big in this league.  I'm guessing the people in Houston know that.

We can dream, though.

Send Bradley and a couple of picks and get SG C. Lee while we are there and the bench is set after signing some of our free agents

You could sign and trade bbDavis with AveryB.

Then get Hill and Courtney and also Terrance Williams who was very good in NJ as a rookie.
