According to Chad Ford, Cavs are working on a deal to select the 2nd pick in draft. Would require them to take on Hamilton's contract, and then buy him out.  Ford said that Chicago is his most likely destination. I wonder if we could convince him to come here instead, and have Ray come off the bench.

How does this fill a need for the C's?  Rip and Ray are more or less the same.

This team needs at least one more center/PF (Baby, Kristic and Murphy will all be gone and the 2 O'Neals are always injured)and backups for Paul and Rondo.

Chances are pretty high, it would be nice for boston to pick him uo, cause he could be good help for our bench!!!

Ray would start over Hamilton.  And I'm not sure we have a big need for an older player like Rip who plays best at the 2 and the 3.  Chicago makes more sense for him anyway -- though I'm sure Chicago would prefer J.R. Smith (or Jamal Crawford as long as the contract isn't terrible).

If we could get him with the biannual exception (i think that smaller than the mid level). we will need the mid level to try and land an effective center (sam dam?).

add those two, resign green and west and hope for a healthy season.

i'd still prefer to find a way to bring in anthony randolph but hamilton would fit well in the second unit with west and green.

Rip still has some game, but one of the last things we need is another aging guy. Youth, people! Youth!

He wouldn't be a bad addition at all----provided he's picked up at a minimal cost and we have a young shooter to backup Ray as well

Sounds like RIP is pretty much a lock to sign with CHI if he gets freed up.  So whether you think he's a good fit or not is probably irrelevant; he ain't coming folks.

What's Chicago's cap situation? I wouldn't think that its that much better than ours. Boozer, Noah, and Deng are all locked up for a while for big bucks. They'll also have to be careful on how much they spend because Rose's contract pays him very little for his value, so when it expires in a few (2? 3?) years, they're gonna have to have a lot of money to re-sign him.

RIP would get signed at the veteran minimum.  Remember he needs to get bought out first before he could sign with CHI.  that means he would have already collected $10-12m on top of the vet min salary.

If Cleveland moves up like people suggest and the Cavs draft a PF in Williams would rather make a play for J.J. Hickson.

I'm jumping up and down , screaming , and pounding my fists.

Yes, my reaction is a mild temper tantrum.

NO MORE OLD PLAYERS....to break.

Sorry for being unclear, I was talking about if Chicago made a run at JR Smith or Jamal Crawford.

The Celtic's already have too many players who used to be better then that are now.

We need more players on the rise and less who are on their way down....and out.
