You have to give Boozer more touches....Rose can't be taking 27 and 29 shots a game, not if he doesn't have it going.

Deng is a different story, because if the Bulls try to use Deng mainly as a spot up shooter, he's going to have games where his shot will be off.

Deng is not a pure shooter, his shot will not be consistent game in and game out.

Boozer should be the Bulls 2nd option and he needs more than 6 shots per game.

But Chicago's roster ties his hands in many ways. They only have one two guard who spaces the floor at all, and Korver has limitations that keep him from being the answer there.

They are a quality two guard from being right there with Miami.

Think about Chicago if they had Ray Allen.  He'd be absolutely perfect.  Veteran leader.  Assassin behind the arc.  With Noah setting him screens, he'd be able to get open.  He's hardwired now to give the required effort on D.

Chicago's got some interesting young guys they could send back, too....

If the C's decided to try and infuses some youth and do a quasi-rebuilding, I wonder if there could be a trade there.  I'm of the opinion that the time is right to start retooling; short of an injury to LeBron or Wade injury, the C's aren't getting out of the East, and Chicago's set up to give them fits as well.

If SG was their problem, they should have never let Gordon go.

With Rose's growth and Gordon to take some offensive pressure off from the perimeter...think how dangerous the Bulls would be last year and this year.

Gordon is pretty dang clutch himself, although not so much on the Pistons.

But yea, the Bulls shoulda kept Gordon.

I disagree because if they'd have kept Gordon they would not have had cap space to sign Boozer.  Both are defensive liabilities but Boozer is a higher impact player overall.

They can acquire a solid SG for the MLE if it still exists or trade for one easier than they can replace Boozer.

Whatever the case maybe, the Bulls probably would have lost out on either Deng or Gordon.

Defensively, Deng is better, but for the sake of team balance...I think a Rose/Gordon/Boozer tandem is better than the Rose/Deng/Boozer group.

But that's just me.

+1...echoes my sentiments exactly...in yesterdays "which of the Big 3 do we trade" thread, I suggested Ray and some combination of picks for Taj Gibson, Asik and Ronnie Brewer....

gives us a big and versatile frontcourt to contribute right away (Gibson) and with upside (Gibson and Asik) and some D on the wing with Brewer

Edit: then use full MLE (if it still exists with new CBA) for a sharpshooting wing to replace Ray

That's true. The problem is they can't afford to give any significant pieces away to get Ray Allen (i.e. nothing is spare there).

That is to say that they're probably better off with Ray Allen (mega)redux in Kyle Korver instead of breaking their core to get Allen.

I think they can afford to give away one of Gibson/Asik for a SG. Just one though.

I don't think we could have afforded to give up Ray though, not when we had a BBD playing well and no other part to replace Ray's shooting.

I like Taj Gibson, but I'm not sure whether I like him that much. Also, it's going to be hard to make the salaries match.

I do think however that this point is kind of moot, since I don't see Ainge taking on any salary after 2012, unless it's a player that's at least as good as the best potential free agent at that point.

Oh yeah it doesn't make sense for Boston, especially when it'd leave us such a huge hole at SG and chemistry wise.

But I do think Chicago can make a trade with Gibson or Asik for a SG, whether that 2 guard is good enough to put them over the top is the question. The Brewer/Korver/Bogans combo isn't getting it done.

I think they'd be better off making a hard run at someone with their MLE this summer. Not sure who's out there though, maybe Michal Redd, if he's healthy enough? Or Jamaal Crawford? McGrady?

I wouldn't be surprised to see Boozer quietly get shopped this summer.  They played pretty good ball without him for most of the season, and Gibson looks like he could grow into a bigger role.  They'd need to get a pretty [dang] good SG in return, though, someone who could replace some of Boozer's scoring.

If we could get Gibson AND Asik for Ray Allen and a pick, I think I'd roll the dice and start rebuilding.

If the MLE exists they should go after JR Smith and/or Crawford hard.
