Yeah they had the best player on their team but almost everyone in the entire world would agree that he had a pretty below average cast around him. If anything I think those Cavs teams overachieved in the last few years. What you think Doc brings those cavs teams a championship?

Possibly if he doesn't make some ghastly playing time decisions, last year in particular.

Last season was the only season I thought those cavs teams drastically underachieved.

But I don't think the 'overachieving' had as much to do with Mike Brown as it did with LeBron James. Mike Brown's greatest achievement was teaching them to play defense to keep the games slow enough for LeBron to keep up.

So it's one of those when they do well it's Lebron when they do bad it's the coach?

As for last year how did they "drastically underachieve". You think they were a better team and should have dispatched us? What about Lebron quitting in that series? That must fall on the coach too.

With a team who's best players over the years were Larry Hughes, Drew gooden, Delonte West, Wally Szerbiak, Sassha Pavlovic, 47 Y.O Ben Wallace, 67 Y.O Shaq, Mo Williams, Gibson, and Jamison. I'd say they did pretty well considering the circumstances
Last season Mike Brown couldn't hold that team together, and never got Antawn Jamison comfortable (which was his best chance to win).

If Antawn Jamison was the key to the Cavs winning last year than I think they had more problems than their coach

It's a done deal...4 yrs/18.25 million. Team option for the 4th year.

Official end of the Laker's Championship run.  I am curious how long Kobe will deal with Brown before he just takes over the team completely.

So in the span of one month, the Lakers get swept by Dallas and then hire Mike Brown? I'm lovin' it. 8)

Right...Loving the fact that the Celtics won one more game than the Lakers in the post-season.

Don't troll, this is a Celtics blog. If you don't like what were saying, go to Silver Screen and Roll.

Jim Buss took the lead on this hire? Career basketball man? Fortunate son?. Reeks of a name recognition, imho.

Jerry Buss was quoted as saying that the Lakers want to move away from the triangle offense.

Jim Buss is also a well known Bynum supporter...maybe Bynum will see an increase in his shot attempts....if Bynum's role increases in the new offense, I wonder how Bryant will react to it after the comments he made a couple of weeks ago.

It won't matter when Bynum gets traded for Dwight before he walks away from O-town.

Brown signed Ettore Messina as his def coach ....

Messina is a first class and he indeed is considered a def wizard ..but that`s in europe.

it`s a litte risky move imho

Terrific addition for LA. He'll be a valuable resource for Mike Brown.

Sounds like Messina will make a great NBA Head Coach someday very soon ... just needs to acclimate himself to the league a bit first.
