He led a team with pretty much just Lebron to some pretty impressive playoff runs.

I don't think any of those Cavs  teams that lost in the playoffs were actually better than the opponent they played against. Not to mention every claims that Lebron was the one that quit on the Cavs last year not Brown

Well he also had the guy who is pretty much agreed upon as the best basketball player in the world playing the 3 spot.

They should've taken Shaw and kept it in house. Phil Jackson wanted Shaw, Kobe wanted Shaw, I really don't see where contradicting those two guys seems like a smart move.

Lakers are gonna be a better defensive team, the only thing is Kobe's ego will probably walk all over Mike Brown. Good news for them is that there's a rumor that Ettore Messina will be the assistant coach.

But I don't think the 'overachieving' had as much to do with Mike Brown as it did with LeBron James. Mike Brown's greatest achievement was teaching them to play defense to keep the games slow enough for LeBron to keep up.

TP,i agree with you plus he has already dealth with a high profile superstar like Kobe and have an idea of when/not to push his buttons.It will be interesting to see if Kobe adapts to Mike Brown's system quickly.If you remember in the past Kobe and Phil had their differences for a long time.
 Bryan Shaw might be to close to the subject.Its one thing to sit in the #2 or #3 seat and deal with players but a whole another world when you're in the #1 seat as a coach.What has Shaw done to prove he can even coach yet?This team is still a contender and deserves veteran coaching.

Seriously? Because Kobe and Jackson "backed" Shaw they should have taken him? What are they going to say that they should hire someone else?

Didn't Kobe play with Shaw? They're probably friends and I'm sure that's where his backing came from. Same thing with Jackson. Obviously he's going to suggest the guy that's been assisting him for these past years. Doesn't every headcoach back their assistant if/when they leave?

With a team who's best players over the years were Larry Hughes, Drew gooden, Delonte West, Wally Szerbiak, Sassha Pavlovic, 47 Y.O Ben Wallace, 67 Y.O Shaq, Mo Williams, Gibson, and Jamison. I'd say they did pretty well considering the circumstances

Last season Mike Brown couldn't hold that team together, and never got Antawn Jamison comfortable (which was his best chance to win).

I think that's a pretty big factor in his underachieving.

Kobe Bryant is not going to allow Mike Brown to control that lockerroom. Calling it meow.
