 :o

Where did this come from? What happened to Shaw? Or Adelman?

Can Mike Brown really control Kobe if he supposedly couldn't really control Lebron?

Good for everyone else. Poor move from Lakers.

Good choice.

Brown did a consistent job with the iversonesque annual team overhaul to build around the messiah.

Their breakdown was defensively in the playoffs...A Davis strength.  It'll be interesting to see what kind of offense they run.

Kobe's a winner.  He doesn't need to be "controlled".

smart move by Lakers, emphasize defense to get back to the finals.  He is a good coach, took a lot of unnecessary flack. I wanted Celts to make a play for him if Doc did not return....

I don't like his line up management. He got his teams to play defense but he made some very poor tactical decisions in the playoffs that dearly cost the Cavs.

100% agree, I thought his lineup management was amongst the worst I've ever seen.

His, give the superstar the ball and get out of his way approach to offense won't sit too well with Pau Gasol, Andrew Bynum and lamar Odom. Then again, since its the Lakers, who gives a flying.......

I'm after the initial shock, and crazy as it might seem, am slightly excited about this news. The Lakers have Odom, Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, etc. They will be fine on offense being coached by a paper bag. Cleveland fans are mostly praising him as a great defensive mind - I'm very excited about what he can do for my team defensively.

Mike Brown's history, combined with this quote by Kobe Bryant would make me very nervous about your train of thought:

Quote
“Ultimately, [Bynum will] have to fall in line because I’m gonna shoot the ball – we all know that,”

As a C's fan, I'm happy.  It should ensure no Laker titles in his tenure  ;D

No, not really. Kobe just made it clear that he's the leader of this team, which I don't think anyone would dispute. He would have the same attitude if Shaw, Adelman or Jackson was coaching him.

I thought it an odd choice.

Can you teach an old dog new tricks? Brown may be a defensive genius, but ultimately, the players have to buy in.
