In Chad Ford's latest mock draft, he has the C's taking USC Nikola Vucevic at No. 25. I like this; seven-footer with good size and post game, and decent shooting from range.

Yep, we've been talking a little bit about him:

But no one here seems to have much first-hand knowledge about him. Is he soft? Can he play defense? What kind of motor does he have?

Well, I like him. If he's anywhere as good as Semih was, I think he could help in some areas.

And if he falls to #25, why not?

If the bar is going to be set at Semih's talent level, well... I guess I'd hope for more than that from a first-round pick even in a weak draft, considering that the Cs dumped Semih mid season for a bag of basketballs.

We need to set the bar much higher than Semih.

Good Points, fafnir and FrDrake - but at 25 I don't see how we could do better, unless this Markieff Morris fellow drops to us, which I doubt.

And I thought Semih was splendid for us last season as a rookie..he started a few games and played decently in limited min.

My question would be, who does Ford still have on the board when we take Vucevic? Based on the draft projections I've seen thus far we'll have better choices than this.

Well, whatever happens, I trust Danny. I'd love to get a steal or something at 25...we're due for some good fortune.

big man or not, Danny will always take the BPA.  C's have enough contracts up after this season that there's no certainties off the bench for next season.  With that in mind, and the uncertainty of the next CBA terms, BPA in this year's draft is about the only certainty Danny can rely on for helping this team.

Ive seen him play several times.  He has trouble guarding quicker inside players and is so-so on toughness.  His skills are definitely on the offensive end.  IF the Celts draft him, he will get crushed by bigs in the NBA and most of their time will be getting him stronger, quicker and tougher to deal with PFs, but he does have potential.

Not me! There are a lot of guys I'd pick before Jordan Williams. Tyler is one of them.

I watched Jordan Williams on ESPN during the combine. He looked bad. He is to slow to play PF and isn't a very good shooter. He also doesn't have great play around the rim it seemed. If he is gonna play in the NBA he will probably need to play C. However, he has already stated he wants to play PF.

I wish. A bag of basketballs would have been substantially more valuable than Troy Murphy.

Semih was a 60th pick. At 25, I expect to do a bit better.
