I guess I'm in the minority here, but I certainly think he would be worth a look.  The reality is the C's aren't going to get a young stud with the MLE.  So you're looking at a marginal younger player or a more talented older player.  The marginal player needs to feed off better players for success; while the more talented player can have an impact on certain nights.

Ive always been a huuuuge Vince Carter guy when everyone has really hated him as a player. Ive always loved him and he really is quite an amazing player...

With that being said, I stay completely away from VC at this point in his career.

Vince Carter is the anti-Pierce, and he's a career loser. Let him stay there.

I'd like Vince on this team.  I'd like the chances of one of Ray/Pierce/Vince going off for a vintage game every playoff game; I think our offense would be more potent.  A Pierce and Vince wing tandem especially could allow the Celtics to be more unpredictable offensively.

That said, he'd be worse than useless in year 2 of the deal if Ray and KG retired, just clogging the cap.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

No.  The athleticism just isn't there anymore.  He's pretty much the opposite of what we need off the bench IMO.  He'd be coming here to die

Really? Every time I watch him his athleticism continues to surprise me. He would probably be the most athletic guy on our team next to Green and Rondo. He can seriously get up. He can shoot the 3 is great in the post and IMO is still extremely atheltic

he's just so inefficient now. VC off the bench would be great, but i can't help but feel that we need more than just one player for our MLE. we can get someone just as good for cheaper who probably isn't a "household name", i think. (i can't think of anyone right now though :P)

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Only thing I want from Phoenix is Gortat.

And Alvin Gentry's head on a platter.

Vince off the bench would be great to spell Ray/Paul though with Delonte.
I'd gamble and take him on the cheap.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.
