(Edit: Opps, I posted before finishing)
Last year I posted a thread on my preferred off-season moves. My goal was a younger more athletic team. That didn't happen. But the egg is still on my face since I really wanted Tyrus Thomas & Travis Outlaw. I had the right theory but clearly I am not in line to be Danny's new assistant. In house options. In no particular order:
1. Doc give them a chance. The longterm contract should be useful for those bench guys finding their way still. Doc can give guys a longer leash, he will have to to succeed past 2012...
2. Bradley can defend. I really think this kid could step up and be a quality rotation player like Delonte, only way to find out is giving him consistent minutes. I'm looking forward to that.
3. KG - I would LOVE to see KG step back a bit further and work on his 3pt shot. Many great PF's have used this to extend their offensive effectiveness late in career. He hits long 2's at a great clip (40+%). Imagine him knocking down ~38% of 3's and giving the C's some more spacing and scoring?
4. Truth - He still is just that. Still can shoot and create. 6th man talk, my gut says Green needs to adjust, not Paul. Then again Red invented the 6th man, holding your best player out as a "secret weapon" of sorts to throw off opponents and get favorable matchups. If Paul still gets on the floor 30 minutes a game would it matter?
5. Ray - expect the same.
6. Rondo - for the love of all that is holy someone get this kid shooting 1,000 free throws a day!! He would be a force with his drives if he could just punish teams at the charity stripe....Or even shoot 70%!
7. Center - No relying on Shaq, hope he comes back though. It'd be great to get some youth in the draft at this spot. I think Krystic & Shaq man this post.
8. Jeff Green - would 30 minutes = better production? Perhaps moving Green this offseason for a better fit is the answer. Heck he is a sure thing to give any team 15 pts a game at PF or SF and at 25 perhaps Danny can find a swap partner that would get us a better fit (Read a scoring SG off the bench, or PF to replace the inconsistent Glen Davis)
Free Agents - I like Josh McRoberts at PF. I like no one at SF. I like plenty of Centers but we can't afford the good ones. I like JR Smith at SG (yup)..
