Could be someone to watch out for on the trade market for a cheap price. The Kings have a surplus of big men and Cousins and Dalembert are thought of more highly by the Kings than Thompson at this point. Thompson showed last year when he gets playing time he can really produce and wow a lot of people. He's 6'11 with a good jump shot, is very athletic and can block some shots and could maybe even be the heir to Garnett at Power Forward because he is still only 24 years old.

Sounds like a carbon copy of Jajuan Johnson who should be available around our pick.

Jason Thompson has proved he can do it in the NBA though and the jury is still out on Johnson.

I agree, I have always liked this kid. He played KG tough a few years ago from what I remember. He is long and athletic , has some offensive game and can run the court with Rondo. Would love to see KG get a hold of this kid and make him more defensive minded because he definitely has the tools to be a solid player .

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Way overrated.

They had high hopes for this guy but he's failed everyones expectations.

Wouldn't waste our time. I know Danny Ainge won't.

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Actually, a sign n trade using Big Baby for Thompson and a pick or cash would be a smart move by Danny. This kid is still loaded with potential and could be a contributor on the right team IMO.

IMO Dalembert would be a better fit for this team. he produces now and comes off the books in 2012, just in time for the Howard sweepstakes.
If were looking for a near ready for prime time prospect i'd prefer if we went after A. Randolph. Given minutes in Minnesota he produced quality numbers. he is long, athletic and an aggressive shot blocker

if we were able to sign SD with the mid level and pull off a bbd sign and trade for randolph I would concider this off season a resounding sucess.

Rondo: 37 min. West: 11 min
Allen: 30 min. West: 18 min
Pierce: 28 min. Green: 20 min
Garnett: 28 min. Randolph: 20 min
Dalembert: 25 min. J. O'neal:23 min

?

I like Thompson better than Anthony Randolph. I feel like Randolph's numbers don't exactly tell the whole story. . . I know that when he plays he puts up solid numbers, but why didn't he get regular mins. on any of his teams?

Thompson is a guy that interests me, i feel like he can come in run with Rondo and Green, and grab 8-12 boards a night off the bench. If he catches the defensive fever he is potentially our starter for many years to come.

Jason Thompson REALLY started playing well last year once Carl Landry was traded. Before that, there just werent enough minutes for Landry/JT/Cousins/Dally.

The Kings really like that trio moving forward. The Owners/Coaches/FO guys have all said that resigning Dally and Marcus Thornton are the top priority.

And while I think JT would be very good for this team, I know the Kings like him, and will NEED him if Dalembert signs somewhere else. IF the Kings sign Dalembert, I think JT may be available, but I promise you they wouldnt take Big Baby for him. It would cost more than that.
