Jackie MacMullan just said she has a gut feeling KG might walk away. Says he took the Miami loss harder than anyone.

She's on WEEI right now

hey the fact is kg is getting pretty old...sure he can still play the game at a decent level, but his skills are in decline big time...i doubt he is leaving yet though...too much money on the table for him to just leave it there....

KG is an emo dude, he'll give it a couple weeks, calm down and decide he's coming back I bet.

Yup, I wouldn't give much weight to Jackie's "gut feelings" ... KG is way, way too competitive to go out this way. I would bet 100 to 1 against it.

If anything, I figure Garnett to play several more years.

He seems like the kind of player who won't leave the game (or even be able to) until he feels he's forced to.

I would be really suprised if KG didn't re-up for vet minimum and play for another 4-5 years. He just seems to be one of those guys who you will have to force into retiring.

If the lock out is going to be as bad as people are saying I could see him walk away.  I think it was December when he said the potential lock out could make this past season his last.

I got that same feeling after that game.

However, I also have a feeling Doc talked to KG after the game, and would not have signed the contract if KG wasn't coming back.

and of course, this is all assuming there is basketball next year.  If the year is lost, then he very well could walk away.

Or KG has told the franchise he will retire after they trade him if they can find a deal.

KG has made $270 million in his career. I seriously doubt he stays because of the money. If he is ready to walk, regardless of his skill level or money left on his contract or money he can still make after his current contract expires, he will walk away.

The loss might bother him because he sees that he can't bring it consistently every night in the playoffs against younger, stronger players and he knows in order to succeed in the playoffs you have to bring it every night. He could be coming to the realization that his time in the spotlight is over and will decide to leave.

If he stays or retires, neither would surprise me.

Or, could he be in pain when he is on the court?

She also said that it was just her talking and no one told her that KG was retiring.

I really dislike Jackie, always have.  She takes shots at players and starts rumors.

Yeah, if he decides to a retire, I think Danny will absolutely do everything he can to trade him this summer.

It wouldn't surprise me at all.  He's played a lot of games and a lot of minutes.  He was playing around 40 mpg in Minnesota and as a big guy those knees can't feel too good.
