Danny Ainge love for Tweeners needs to end. Just say no to tweeners Danny Ainge. We need an intervention.
Yeah, why have tweeners when you can have Patrick O'Bryant. He's legit, man.
Yeah, I think people need to realize that Danny is not picking tweeners by choice. He is getting them because they are more effective than guys who have better size, but are bad basketball players.
Guys who have prototypical size, and who are good players are very hard to come by. They almost always come at a high cost of either cash, very high draft picks, or assets in a trade.
However, you can find tweeners who are very productive role players, and can be had for a fraction of the cost, or as a late draft pick.
Good point. This is why Leon is "gettable". Real centers don't grow on trees.
Frankly I'd rather have Leon than Baby. Both tweeners, Baby a bit better on offense, Leon the better rebounder, defensively it may be a wash as both are very good at taking charges. The real difference is what is between the ears and I've just had enough of Baby's selfish cry-Baby ways. He is not the classic Celtics player I had hoped for. On the other hand, Leon provides exactly what the team needs and will be happy as a role player.
Again, 2009 Powe, absolutely. However, the 2011 Powe was barely an NBA player, while Davis is a quality rotation player, even with all his warts. Unless Powe regains his explosiveness, then he simply is not anything more than a 12th man.
However, as a 12th man, I would certainly give him a shot, with the hopes he will continue to improve a couple years post surgery, plus, just to have his personality in the lockerroom. This team has lost a lot of the guys who gave them their personality the last few years (Posey, House, Powe, Scal, Perkins), so, if you have an extra roster spot at the end of the bench, that alone could give him the edge over other guys who wouldn't play.
