My friend pulled that on me the other day. Have been dying to use it. Again, hope its not too rude.

The knock on Semih was concerns that he wouldn't be able to hold up for the post season, and that at age 24 some feared that he wouldn't be able to develop that much further.

They got rid of him to clear up a roster spot that was used on either Troy Murphy or Sahsa Pavlovic. In retrospect, I wish we could take it back but it was worth the gamble.

If you couldn't figure it out, you can just go to lmgtfy.com to have it generated.

I still think there was more to the story with Semih.  I certainly understand giving him away for this season, because with his injury (he only played in 4 games after being traded), and his inexperience, he just was not someone they could count on in the playoffs.  However, in theory, he should have had value going forward as a young center.

I have heard rumors that there were real concerns about his work ethic, dedication, and his interest in staying in the US instead of returning to Europe.

I also think it may not have been a coincidence that just a couple days before being traded, he returned home from visiting his sick relative (which the team gave him extra time for over the All Star Break), and he looked absolutely horrible.  He looked like he was completely out of shape (which is shocking after just a week or so off), and his head was not in it.

I wish DA had found a way to get Omir Asik instead of Semih in the 2008 draft.  Asik looks like he's going to be a beast for the Bulls (he's playing quality minutes right now), while Semih looks to be at best a back up center for someone.  In DA's defense, Asik went about 25 spots earlier than Semih did.

Because our GM is an idiot.  He dumped him because of "injury concerns" just to pick up a Center who couldn't give us a minute in the playoffs

Asik looks good now; but Semih finished games for the TUrkish team while Asik sat. Asik started; but they relied on Semih's physical presence for defense.

I think trading Erden was a big reason we lost so many games after the trades. Yes Rondo pouted some and this had a definate effect on our teams play but having BBaby play center instead of Erden put us at a serious disadvantage for long periods of time.

Having a 7 foot center that runs the court and defends the paint is a big deal even when he is young and inexperienced.

Everyone knew bbaby was going to take a charge here and there but that just doesn't strike fear in the opponents like a 7 foot shot blocker, plus he finished strong around the rim, something bbaby nor Perkins does.

I'm not saying he is great but he did fit the bill as to what the celtics needed and were doing and IT WORKED!!

It is not about who is the best player, it is about who playes together the best. And we were a better team with Erden starting at center than with bbaby or JO.

I sure wish we had him for that playoff run!

Good luck to you Erden, come back soon.

Asik is the much better defender.  The reason Asik sat at the end of games was because he is a terrible free throw shooters, and teams were purposely fouling him down the stretch.

And Erden is the better offensive player. Its a wash between the two. I think Semih Erden has higher ceiling because he is more skilled.

Krstic got hurt after Boston acquired him, Semih was already showing his injuries.

You're right thought Danny Ainge is an idiot.
