I had posted this within another post, but to me this quote from Doc says a lot and I wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to read it.
In his interview on WEEI today Doc said the following while talking about the lingering effects of the trade.
"Now there's the fifth guy who doesn't know your offense three years ago. He only knows what he knows since he's been there, and that limited our group. With Rondo, because the way teams guard him, you need a massive playbook and that took more away from it than we thought."
That last part of the quote just kind of came out at the end if you listen to the interview but it speaks volumes.
Isn't the fact that the C's need to devise a complex offensive playbook to offset Rondo's shortcomings as a shooter a pretty huge issue? The PG should make this easier.
As I said in my initial post, I love Rondo, but if this is true, then I would have to think that Danny and Doc would jump at the chance to upgrade at the PG position with a CP3 or Deron Williams (assuming you consider either of those two an upgrade).
Thoughts?
