I'll say this about Pistol Pete - and I'll admit that I only know him from highlights - but statistically, his numbers are remarkably similar to Allen Iverson's.
He was on my list when I took AI and I just thought athletically I would be better off the way I went. I would have been completely happy to have Pistol then (end of round 5) but because I took AI I have just watched Pistol slip far beyond where I thought he would. I was going to take him with this pick, glad to see he has a nice home now, nice pick!

I'm sure thats blasphemous to some, but at the PG or SG position he's got a lot of points, on a relatively low fg%, with a low assist total. When they started tracking turnovers he seemed to have an alarmingly high amount per game.

Considering that Chicago isn't asking him to start or even be the backup, its certainly worth the warts to take him on considering his offensive abilities.

1.  Chicago Bulls

3.  Boston Celtics
4.  Philadelphia 76ers
5.  Atlanta Hawks
6.  Indiana Pacers

Clearly I'm marketing myself all wrong. Time for a name change.

I love Russ and Barkley, but I think your defense is fundamentally flawed.  Barkley + Rice + Nash + Price is too many weak links, in my mind.  All great players, but collectively flawed in my mind.

Ha, as I've stated a couple times. I'm really into this to make my favorite team possible. I don't really care I was just trying  to make a cheap Poochie reference.

This draft is a ton of fun, and really makes you think. And at the end of the day, everyone's going to think they've constructed the best team.

So Roy - What are your reasons why LA is ranked so low in your opinion?

Well, first, they're the Lakers. ;)

But no, in all seriousness, the West is a blood bath.  They're all great teams, and I second-guessed myself ranking a team with Kareem / KG up front last in anything.

What it came down to is I just didn't see the same dominant talent on LA as on some other squads.  Kareem and KG certainly dominated their eras, but guys like Worthy, Dumars, Payton, Majerle, and certainly Ben Wallace were all a step below that level, in my mind.

No hard feelings; it's all very, very subjective.  Your starting big men are probably my favorite in the game.  On balance, though, I like some of the other squads better.

Are there many teams that can't?

The matchups are what interests me in comparing the teams. My guess is that they're impossible to rank.

Here's how I see the playoffs, based upon current rosters:

East Seeds:

1.  Chicago Bulls
2.  Miami Heat
3.  Boston Celtics

Eastern Playoffs:

3. Boston over 6. Indiana (7 games, due to Russ)
4. Philadelphia over 5. Atlanta (7 games)

1. Chicago over 4. Philadelphia (6 games)
2. Miami over 3. Boston (6 games)

1. Chicago over 2. Miami (7 games, with multiple OTs)

I'm not getting all the love for Miami. Their big guys are nice but I'm not afraid with Timmy on McHale and Ewing/Bellamy can handle Wilt as much as anyone can. After that Boston is going to just be able to run them ragged. Hondo, Clyde and English are going to score at will and our defense is unmatched. Boston can substitute a more well rounded bench with a lot of speed and accurate shooting from anywhere on the floor.
