Early for him, Great 3 man rotation but Wade without great help will die in this format, I see this as a work in progress

I stand by earlier comments, I think there's an alarming drop at the center slot after Zo.

I disagree.  I think there are a few centers who I'd take over Mourning, even though I think Zo was extremely good.  I definitely don't see any sort of big drop.

Well, also lets point out that Charles Barkely, probably the second or third most talented player of his era besides Michael Jordon, with his 29 points, 11 rebounds, 11 free throw attempts and 58% shooting is a pretty great 'help' to Dwyane Wade.

Pierce can run circles around chuck before he notice
 ;D

Not to mention Wade facing Ray AND Kobe in their primes at the same time probably becomes loco

We talkin' 2000 Paul Pierce or 2008 Paul Pierce?

haha...I don't care what year we're talkin Paul Pierce...the Chuck Wagon got his buckets in an era of McHale's and Stone Masons and Buckin Broncos...the round mound of rebound will get his points, his boards, and everyone else's dignity.

I think there are still a few guys more then capable of holding their own in this format.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Teams will have a tough time stopping Kobe, then the pick and roll, then Ray Ray from downtown. Good luck. I couldn't imagine ray running off screens with stockton with the ball and when you wanna colapse on Kobe dropping 50 on your head he kicks it to ray ray. Then you think ok We got ray covered then that leaves the lane for the pick and roll or kobe to do work. I think I've done a good job so far. I would like to read some thoughts on my team if yall don't mind.

I can't imagine Kobe setting screens to help out Ray

I'll be the first admit I haven't done the most homework, but I'm struggling to think of any. Is it fair to say they were pre 85'?

Obviously, I love the Stockton + Malone combination.  I think it's genius that you were able to pull that off in rounds two and three.

On that team, I think a prime Ray Allen would be devastating.  I really like that pick.  I've given my opinion of Kobe -- he's not my favorite player, and was a bit of a reach in my opinion -- but his talent is undeniable, and maybe with great teammates or in a different structure he never becomes the ballhog that he was.

Some people will probably say you could have waited on Ray.  I understand why you didn't want to risk it.  What I don't like, however, is the Kobe / Ray combination.  I think you're weakening a strong defender by moving Kobe to SF.  I think he's going to get abused going up against bigger guys like Bird, Lebron, etc.

I probably would have taken a guy who works better beside Kobe with that pick, or in the alternative, I'd try to trade Kobe for players and/or picks, and then rework the team in that image.

Well, one center taken after your pick -- Nate Thurmond -- was every bit as good, if not better, than Zo.  There are others, some being pre-1985, and some having played after.

Pro's:
You have a top 3 PF and a top 3 shooting guard, to go along with a top 10 pg and a top 10 SG. That's some firepower.

Ray Allen has already proved he's okay scoring 16 or 17 points a night, and that's good. Stockton is another strong character guy who won't be troubles by losing a few assists and FGA's because Kobe is taking some of his touches.

Cons:

I think your offense is going to go through some growing pains, because of Kobe's need to control more than anything else.

I think you're going to struggle on defense, until you figure out your center and your bench. Kobe is a good defender, Ray can be an adequate defender, and Malone is a tough as nails player, but none of those guys are going to be the go-to guy in a world class defense night in night out. Who you pick with your center position will do a lot to define your team's defensive identity.

Who is the leader? Kobe will try to be the default president-elect, and I don't think that the other guys will have a problem falling in line, but what happens the first time Kobe lights into them for having an off night? Ray Allen, Stockton, Karl Malone, these guys aren't Steve Blake and Matt Barnes, and if those Lakers could tune out Kobe, these guys can do it too, and then where are you? Coaching selection will matter a lot here.

I think you've almost got to bring Ray off the bench and wait til the 4th to pull out the small-ball lineup.

I personally would consider Kobe off the bench so that way he can do his ball-hog thing and get him out of the way of Stockton/Malone.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I don't know if the Ray Allen just coming off the set of "He Got Game" would be ready to accept that role.

That's a fair point.
