I think the celtics should look to signing JR Smith to the MLE

He could be a big help off the bench and eventually start for ray allen moving forward

Athletisism hes got it, Talent , and very good 3 point shooter and scorer.

he could be even better learning from ray allen

we need  youth and athletic players

hes a good start

I think he would be a very interesting option, particularly if they are not going to bring back Green.  The only issue I have (well, other than the question of whether he is completely insane, and a bit of a cancer) is that the C's will have some huge holes to fill up front, so unless they can sign and trade for someone, it would be tough to spend the MLE on a wing like Smith.

If we can get a good big I'd throw the full MLE at them but since most of the bigs aren't worthy of the full MLE or too expensive for the MLE I think he'd be a great fit.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if they sign him in Chicago because they can offer him a starting role.

I'd love to see JR Smith go somewhere where he can be a starter and playing 32-35 minutes a night.

Be a third scoring option.

Jeff Green and Jr smith off the bench imo would be great give them both 30 minutes per game

JR Smith as the 6th man

and Green coming in for pierce and KG

sign and trade big baby for a servicable  center who can rebound

JJ just isn't clutch. He seems to disappear in the playoffs every year.

Josh Smith would be great. No clue how we could do it but a team of Rondo,JRSmith and Josh Smith would be fun to watch
Can't stop, Rondo!

Yup, like Chicago.  If he goes there, they will be even more scary.

Dallas would also be a good fit.

I'm a huge Josh Smith Fan. I want to see him traded to a team that consistently pushes the tempo where he can get out and finish on the break (GSW and Phoenix).

Sorry, I don't understand your question.

What about Joe Johnson? Joe Johnson as a target for the Celtics? Or JR Smith to play with Joe Johnson in Atlanta? Or JR Smith can become a player like Joe Johnson with more minutes/opportunity?

JR Smith is a little too Ricky Davis for me. Him in green--no thanks.

Ricky Davis really made a big effort to be a good teammate in Boston, as one of our better scorers he was bad but having a player like him coming off our bench wouldn't have been bad.

Both players' shot selection is terrible. If we could reign them in--I don't know. I still wouldn't like it, JMO.

Orlando, Dallas, Chicago ... all good destinations for JR Smith.

A little weary about JR joining a contender though. Although he would be a major asset (for an MLE player) for those clubs and help take them up another notch. I would be worried about them keeping him in that sixth man role or relegating him to fourth option status though - more of a 14-15ppg threat than the 16-18ppg threat he can be.

I'd almost prefer him to land on a lesser team.

I'd love to see him get more freedom. More minutes. More shot attempts. Someone who will put up with his mistakes because they desperately need that scoring punch. Give him a lengthily stretch of serious playing time to help round out some (some!!) of the rough edges in his game.

Somewhere like Philadelphia, that could be great. Replace Jodie Meeks in that starting lineup and pump in another 16-18ppg.
