Danny Ainge decides to keep Rajon Rondo on the roster. Any idea how this team will work? I think Rondo should stick to his starting role as a PG. Chris Paul will play the combo guard since he have more offensive arsenal the Rondo. Thoughts?

CP3 won't sign here if Rondo is on the roster. Two swords one sheath.

Im not saying it's a possible thing to happen, of course. The question is IF two all-star point guard decides to play together. How it will work out?

  • Let's Go Celtics!
we'd have teh shortest backcourt in the league (even shorter than GSW). This wouldn't not work logically.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

It's not.

While I agree with everbody else that it won't happen, I don't think this is the answer you are looking for.

We would have an extremely quick, yet short backcourt. This wouldn't be horrible defensively, except in the post where we would need help defense. Offensively, it would be a thing of beauty. I liked what I saw with Rondo and West (and very much hope West sticks around) and CP3 is 10X the player West is. As long as the big 3 and other 'finishers' stay around, we would have players tripping over themselves all over the place.

This just isn't something that really happens successfully, though. There are teams that have won championship with two shooting guards, but I don't know of any that have had two definite PGs.

Danny Ainge basically flat out said he's not trading Rondo, you can't have him and Paul together... so this isn't happening.

I New Orleans called him tomorrow and offered CP3 for Rondo, Ainge would make the deal.

Not going to happen, but he would trade him if he had a chance to get the best PG in the league who is still in him prime.
