Dwight Howard is not coming to the Celtics.  Please stop.  His decision is so much more than just basketball.  He wants to be in a glitz and glamour big market.  Boston may be a big market but it's just doesn't have the intangibles that spots like New York and LA can offer to attract the modern day superstar through free agency.  Dwight doesn't strike me as a scholar of the game who appreciates the rich history of the Celtics enough to let it influence his decision on where he'll play.

A question I would like to know is is he a huge Shaq fan? I find it a coincidence that he would first play in Orlando and then go to the Lakers. That looks like the same thing Shaq did and he seems to want to follow Shaq's footsteps. Anyways Kobe would be 34 years old and probably still wanting the ball and be ball hog because he would be in denial about his mileage and his ego wouldn't let him give the reigns up.

I wonder what would that team look like though and I wonder how Dwight would deal with Kobe and the Lakers with all the distractions in LA. That team seems to have soap opera drama and is more entertaining than tv shows.

Actually he and Shaq don't really like each other. Shaq has previously talked smack about Dwight for stealing some of his thunder (and his 'superman' nickname)

If he is, I hope it doesn't mean he's going to sign with us in 10 years when he weighs 800 pounds

If the Celtics want to compete Danny's got to go out and get a game changer, and Dwight is the biggest game changer out there that's coming up on free agency.  I doubt we'll get him, but I think it's worth doing everything you can to try.

How many flags have the Lakers won since 2000 and how many have the Celtics won?  Maybe, just maybe,Dwight might, and I just dare to say "might" think the Lakers have a better organization in fielding teams with a better chance of winning a flag than with the Celtics. After all, the Celtics have won 1 flag in 25 years. I don't know how many the Lakers have won in that same period of time, but its more than 3 for sure. And the Lakers are younger and have Kobe, a pretty decent clutch player despite his age.
Wish we had a chance to land it but I see no chance at it at this point in time.Maybe we can work some miracle, cause thats what its going to take.

Anything is possible.  LA don't have a coach either, and I could see the look of distress on his (Koby) face about his daddy Phil not comming back ...Boo Hoo... :'(
He wants to run the show , tell the coach, what to do...that might work with the zen master, but most coachs won't put up with his baby fits ....and he knows this .  Doubt Koby can even get along with another coach....unless it is puppet coach like that sissy Spo ...LA may have to trade Koby to get Dwight.
If I was an up and comming star the last people I would want on my team are the two biggest ball hogs and hotdogs in the NBA ..LBJ and Koby....particular Koby..he will never be a team player. He has to be Mr big shot ever play every game.

I still don't think Orlando will trade Dwight .  I think they'll balk and make him walk .  ....just like LBJ at Cleveland.... owners are stupid that way , didn't that happen to Shaq under the same people ?  They should trade him.. common sence says that...but pride sometimes gets the best of people.

Way to early to tell, too many variables with the league , coaching, where other players sign, ect , ect ,ect .

ALl I know is I would do everything possible to secure his sevices. I'm certain Danny will see what he can come up with.

Dwight Howard is just plain stupid ... By the time he's a free agent Kobe will be 35 (And it's plain to see from the lakers epic fail in this postseason that he's no longer the player he once was ...) So you'll have all of 2 years to play with A SHELL of what once was "The Black Mamba" before he hits the nursing home with the REAL BIG 3!

Dwight Howard has such bad Shaq Envy, he could star in an episode of House.  And believe me, he would.

At least we can look forward to Dwight playing for the Celtics when he's 39 and doesn't have knees anymore.
"When I was a rookie, [Bird] and Kevin McHale were arguing.  So I asked Kevin McHale what they were arguing about.  And he says, 'we're just trying to figure out who you're going to guard.'  I said, 'what you mean?' and he said, 'oh, you're dead meat, rook.'" - Charles Barkley

Thank God Dwight can´t simply pick his new team, since he´s under contract, and Otis Smith isn´t stupid enough to let him walk for nothing.

I´m pretty sure that if we could land him somehow, once he plays a few games with these guys, he wouldn´t want to leave a dedicated franchise like ours for the Lakers.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Nah. I think he'll go sign with either the Kings or the Raptors.

What if Dwight says he would only sign a contract extension if traded to the Lakers?  What other team is going to trade for him?

Unless he's dead set on going to Hollywood, I'm not so sure he wants to go to the Lakers.  He wouldn't even get there until Kobe's 34 years old.  Maybe they squeeze a title out before he leaves, but what about after that?  Furthermore, who's to say that Kobe doesn't put a KG next season?

I think Dwight was just saying that to be complimentary to Kobe, partly knowing that it'd likely never work out.
