Baby has played the way Doc has wanted him to play; if not Doc would not have played him that much. Thats is the simple truth. The problem with Baby is that we have been so inefficient offensively that Doc has played whomever was being left open from distances from where Baby could be efficient. The problem with baby is that he was verey inconsistent, but not any more than the rest of the guys. How many times was PP stripped ofthe ball in crucial times; I mean, the whole bunch of them was a sorry bunch on offense when it counted. BBD was not better nor worse than our unholy three. He was just given more open shots than the rest and he had to take those shots cause nobody else was being given the space. Thats what Doc saw and thats why he was given an almost unlimited license to go ahead and shoot. I would not get rid of him unless or until we get another shooter that can put it in the hole on a cosistent basis. Lets not do another Tony Allen on BBD. One stupid mistake was enough.

Oh , lets kept him ....maybe it would be fun to watch Mello, Amaire, LBJ , and the rest make a joke out of him.  See who can dunk on him the most in one game. We are going to need something to smile about.

With aging group the group we have now ...I'm wondering IF we can even beat the 76's or PAcers next year.

I rather have Pyscho T than BBD.

Disagree.

Like Tony Allen I think this marriage is coming to an end. However, Glen Davis is not Tony Allen unless he gets his big butt in the gym and sheds the weight. He's not proven capable of that.

I also agree with the earlier poster who stated that Davis' weaknesses (lack of rebounding, speed, explosiveness, etc.) mirror those of Ray, Paul and Kevin. Replacing Davis with a lesser player, such as Jason Collins for instance, would be an addition by subtraction move. Who says the Celtics need to aim for another undersized four? They already have Green who is more than capable of handling Glen's backup power forward minutes.

I would be disappointed if the Celtics brought him back (and I have been a strong supporter of him). I could tolerate it if it was on a 1 year deal for no more than $4 million, but even then I'd rather Ainge explore other options or look to take a flyer on a kid in the draft or one of these athletic Lasme/Dorsey types.

Davis thinks he is better than he really is, when he is on the floor, when giving interviews and when there is a contract involved.  He's a really good second round pick by Danny.  Ainge has a really good 2nd round draft history, I'd welcome semih back in a second.  Point is Davis has a unique skill set, mainly due to him being 6'7"-seems like he has great feet for a big but he is really a "stocky" sf  ::)  BUT he can easily be replaced by a true backup pf, 6'8" -10"
easily
adieu
I'd welcome Semih, Perk and hell Chris Johnson back too

I think he will be re-signed.  He's probably worth more to the Cs than most other teams, because of his knowledge of the system, on both sides of the ball.  Plus, if we didn't, we'd have to use an exception (I think we have the LLE again this year) to sign a back-up 4, which would limit us in our chase for a 5, which is top priority.

A bench of Krstic, Davis, Green, West, and perhaps Bradley is not a bad start, though we need one more strong player in there.  But the real need is for a 5, especially if JO doesn't come back.  I wonder if Sam D would sign with us for the MLE?

Psycho T earned his place as a starter for a playoff team and is going to make twice the money BBD is. You can't compare those two. But I would love to see Tyler in green. He is the energizer bunny of the NBA.

BBD playing within his role and the BBD of the Regular Season is infinitely better than what's out there.

Yes, but for whatever reason, he is not doing that.  Either he is being misused or he, himself, is not staying within his role. The reason is irrelevant.  The results are poor. If Rondo or Chris Paul was played at center (out of position), they would not be effective.  Since Doc is definitely coming back, I have to think Davis will continue to be "bad" Davis while in Boston.

As hard as it is on the team to change the makeup of the team during the season, I hope he is gone before next year.

He is an energy guy.  As was shown in "The Association" he has overcome a lot in his life.  He seems to add humor and camaraderie to the locker room.  However, he wants to be a starter and I still don't see that happening on this team.  He is just too slow and awkward when moving the ball.

I really do wish him well, but I think he needs a new start somewhere else.

We had a pretty beat up roster this past season, especially the bench.

Baby was asked to do more based upon his improved play earlier in the season.

When a player plays more, he can show you more good things and more bad things.

We haven't seen BBD be consistently good for a full 82 game season.

I think he can work towards that, just like any other young player or role player increasing their game to the next level.

This does seem to be something of the year of the power forwards in the draft.  That is, there's an interesting collection of projects with potential that could be around when the C's pick.  I really want one who is 6'10" this time.  Enough of the Godys and Babys and Powes of the world.  Give me a guy with a high motor and the requisite physical characteristics and let's "coach 'm up", as Belichick would say.
