Caron Butler is a FA, i think he could come fairly cheap, and Rondo, Green, Butler, could be enough to keep in the race for Dwight with a role playing big three.

I know he is coming off a major knee injury, but what makes you think he will come on the cheap? Or should I say define cheap.

I think he is still worth the MLE, but I don't think the C's should invest the MLE on anything but a big. Caron is a fringe all-star when healthy, but who knows if/when he will be healthy, and he is a 2/3, when we should have Ray, Pierce, West, and Green taking the full 48 at those positions.

Boy, it would have been nice if Doc had recognized he couldn't win it with just the Big 3 BEFORE the end of this season.

Mike

wouldn't have done much good unless the team realized they couldn't win with just the Big 3 before the start of this season.

Actually this is the real reason behind the Perkins trade. Before the season everyone said "We could have won game 7 with a healthy Perk", and the front office acted accordingly. But the first half of the season showed that more athletic teams would be among the front runners this year. There was no way, they could have known that. Actually not very many people around here acknowledged it until the Heat series.

I don't agree. In terms of personnel on the team, the thing that made Danny comfortable trading Perk was how we played with Shaq at center....and there is nothing young and athletic about him.

Danny miscalculated on Shaq and now he needs to get us a starting center who can patrol the paint.

i believe doc is mistaken.  we can not win with the big 3 playing key roles...they are simply going to be too old by playoff time next year...they are all good players individually but to have rely on them when they are up against younger teams will be a mistake...it is time to blow it up and get younger...as far as shaq goes, it is obvious that was a huge bust and he should not be back next year...if he doesn't hang it up on his own.
