First off, I'm still holding out for a miracle tonight.  It looks bad, very bad.  However, it looked very bad in 2004 too, and the Sox pulled it out.  Unfortunately, the Sox only had to rely on a hurt Curt Schilling for one game.  We need to rely on a hurt Rondo for 3.

That said, win or lose tonight, we should still be very proud of what this team accomplished the past 4 years.

First and foremost, we won a title.  In the past 35 years of the NBA, only the Pistons, Bulls, Rockets, Spurs, and Lakers have done better than us, and only the Heat have matched us.  While I'm very disappointed that we didn't win in '09 and '10 (and quite possibly this year) we still have done much better than most NBA teams have and a lot to be happy about.

Second, we've had the pleasure of seeing basketball played the Celtic Way and quite simply the right way.  Just like the old days, no one cared about scoring, everyone played as a team, and the team played tough, gritty defense.  In an NBA often dominated by self-obsessed ball-hogs who play matador defense, it's been an absolute joy to watch this team for the past 4 years.

As I said, I'm not waving the white flag yet: I'm holding out for the miracle.  But win or lose tonight, the past 4 years have been darn successful and this team (and it's fans) have a lot to be proud about.

I'm very proud.  I'm with my team ALL THE WAY, WIN OR LOSE!

It was a fun ride while it lasted.  I really love and appreciate this team! 8)

I'm definitely proud of everything the team has accomplished the last four years.  The regular season last year was a painful slog, and I was a little bit ashamed of how much they underachieved, but they redeemed themselves in the playoffs.  This year, it's clear they fought hard all the way through but age and injuries just got the better of them -- that and a much tougher Eastern conference.  Regardless, we still have the '08 championship to be proud of.

For sure it was a fun ride while it lasted, and next year we'll probably have a whole season to say goodbye, though they'll probably be past seriously contending for a title.
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

Is anyone else strangely relaxed today?

I think I have probably already reached acceptance of our fate.  Now, I am hoping to enjoy what is left of this era.  I love the guys on this team and will look back at them fondly.

Yes, but not for the reason you state.

I'm relaxed because i have this very strange confidence that even though everything is pointing in the direction the the C's losing tonight, that they are going to win it and win it easier than anyone would have expected.

Strange I feel that way, normally I would be all over the place about such a situation but today I feel calm and extremely confident.

No doubt.  I do hope they can win and get the series back to Boston.

Yes, me too ... for the reason you say.

I just want to see them give their best effort tonight to try and draw out the series. I'd love to see Jeff Green get some extended minutes alongside the Big Four tonight too. See what he can do with the added opportunity ... especially since the club may have to make a very difficult decision about his future this summer.

I love this team.  I can't say I loved the Russell era teams as I was only 11 when Russell retired and it was very much a radio and newspaper sport back then -- hard for me to feel too connected. But I loved the Havlicek teams, I loved the Bird teams, and I love the current team.  This team stands right up there with the great C's teams in my opinion -- even though they'll likely end up with just one championship.

If they do not win tonight, it may be the last time we see the new Big 3 on the court together (maybe), and it will be a somber moment for many of us when they walk off.  On the other hand, they could still have some gas left in the tank for this series or next year -- but, we all know that it's possible that this could be it.

I love this team.

Part of the relaxation for me is knowing that 'The Team That Shall Not Be Named' is already done.

I am very proud of this team.

I haven't been this proud of a team since the 2003 Red Sox.

I'm going to sit back, watch the game, enjoy it. If we lose, i'll cry for a good hour or two, then enjoy life for the summer. If we win, I will sit around and ponder how the heck we pull this off.

Btw, Troy Murphy active today... any chance he gets PT at all?

This team of ours has lost to the worst teams over the last few weeks..teams that we shouldn't have lost to.

We've also overcame incredible odds and beat the best teams when we shouldn't have.

Looking back over the last few weeks I'd say we are due for one of those improbable wins - tonight!

And Yes! Count me among those that are Very Proud of our C's!

Co-sign. I'm looking forward to watching the game tonight -- with the volume off, as usual.

I'm relaxed today I don't know why though, but I just guess it's because if they lose today well they have a long vacation and can get the injuries together and hopefully see some new faces and if they win then it will just expand their run even more.

Agreed.  I'm extremely proud of this team.

I'm not old enough to remember the C's of the 80s.  My first real C's memory is Bird vs. the Pacers when he came back after getting knocked down by Chuck Persons and went crazy all over the place.

For the majority of my life the C's have been terrible.  I'd hear people tell me about how great winning the title was, but until 2008 I never got to share in that.

I'll watch tonight's game with a mixture of pride, sadness and hope for one game and if not that, then hope for one more season.
