He lifts his pivot foot (left) on the slight hop, after the fake. Travel. He's LeBron James though, he could walk with the ball down the court, and never get called. What's so surprising?

Silly me, upon seeing this topic I initially thought there was some uncertainty as to whether or not Lebron traveled with the team. Ohh well…

Yep.  Does it matter?  Not really.

My expectation is that he will be traveling back to Boston after tonight.

of course it was a travel, the problem is that when it happens in real time it's hard to pick it up right away.

when i saw it as it happened, i said to my buddy "travel" in a distraught voice, only half-sure of it myself.

that's the problem that these refs have, though. lebron is just so quick and smooth that even when it's a blatant travel it still takes a second or two to actually process what he just did.  issue with that is once you have processed it, the shot is already up and in, and you just can't blow the whistle at that point or you're going to lose all credibility.

hadn't seen the slow-mow replay until just now...man he covered a lot of ground with one dribble.

Every body travels in the NBA... And nothing is going to be done about it.

He took 3 steps(travel), he pivoted off a jump stop (travel), and his pivot foot slid (travel)...

But in the NBA, is that even a travel?

He does so all of the time but the refs will not call it because he is "Lebron"! 3 steps to the rim all the time ! Never gets called !

I was practically screaming Monday night when I saw this happen. Such an obvious travel at such a big moment and they, once again, let him do it. Not the only time he traveled in the game of course.

Lebron is hard enough to defend without travelling but it's pretty disappointing that you can play great defense on him and put him in a position where his only move would be to travel and at that stage of the game to force him into a turnover but instead it's an easy unconstested lay up is just beyond frustrating.

Of course he did.

Im sure Pierce does similar things on his drives but Lebron takes full advantage. If the refs arent calling it you have to do it.

The rule needs to be officiated better league wide. I dont think Lebron gets special treatment. He is just the best at exploiting the advantage.

Pierce does do similar things but he's not as bad as LeBron.  he traveled about 3 times in that play.  Both of his feet slid before he even took that last step.  If he's going to travel that often, he's impossible to cover.
