  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It's a great thought. Everything really depends on game 5. If they pull that out, then it really is anyone's series, as the Celtics have the next game at home...and then anything can happen in a game 7.

However, 3-1 leads are hard to come back from, especially when you go out like you did in the finals last year. Was that really their best effort? If it was, then it is over and you have to tip your hats to the the [ghetto] Heat.

If Rondo was healthy I'd believe but frankly I'm done believing for now.

Let's just hope they push it to 6 or 7 games and give the Heat a run for their money.
Celtics' turn on switch for the playoffs: the last bastion of hope for battered Celtic fans.

More power to you, but they are done. Hurt Rondo, Hurt Shaq, no bench except for Delonte and occasionally Jeff Green. Get the fork out.

When Laker fans thought that they could come back from a 3-0 deficit to win the series I thought they were insane and just ridiculously arrogant.

...I don't believe in double standards. I feel the same way with the Celtics. If we come back to win this series it would be nothing short of a miracle.

Being down 3-0 is a death sentence... Multiple teams have come back from a 3-1 deficit. I'm not completely on the "I believe" ship but the Celtics aren't out of this til they're out of this. Go C's.

I will always believe. In all seriousness if any team can accomplish it the Celtics can. If any team can blow it the Heat can. Its a good combination. If it helps 9 is my lucky number and the Celtics would be the 9th team in history to do it. We did it in 1968 against the 76ers who had owned the East that year and we had to win 2 games on the road including game 7 in phily. We also did it in 1981 in the 2nd round against the 76ers who was also at the top of the eastern conference. We went on to win the championship that year. We are the only team in history to do it twice and will soon be the only team in history to do it 3 times :)

Ok..I'm even more optimistic after watching KG in the post game interview. He certainly seems as if he is looking forward to Wednesday.

I still believe!!

I still believe: if we can have a little more help from the bench (pleaaaaase, BB, wake up!!) and do a better job controlling Heat's second opportunities, we can beat them 3 in a row!

It will be tough but its doable; if Game 5 & 7 was in Boston I will still be confident that they can pull it off, but to win both Games 5 & 7 in Miami, maybe Game 5, but I seriously doubt the Celtics can do it twice.
Let's Go Celtics!!

Agreed, I think this series is over but I at least want the Celtics to make the series more even.  There's no way we can go out losing this series in 5.  If it happens, we all owe John Hollinger an apology

I hope you guys realize that game 7 on the road is a blessing in disguise. You will think im crazy but statisticly the Celtics play better on the road. I thought it was crazy when Skip was talking about it on ESPN awhile back but he's right. I honestly believe they have been average at home ever since they were booed by whatever pathetic fans booed them vs NJ last year in a matinee game.

It sounds crazy but did you know that in the KG era we've never lost a playoff series in less than 7 games? I'm desperately gonna keep talking myself into believing that there's a comeback in store

I would feel a lot more confident if Rajon Rondo was healthy.

With him being healthy, my confidence is pretty much shot. Minimal.
