I will give $100 to anyone who can tell me the exact reason Shag only played 4 minutes.... Why did we play small ball? Why?

Why didnt JO play in OT? Why did we go back to Pierce ISO at the end of regulation and most of OT? Didn't we figure out that didn't work last year?

Why do you start the game out on fire. Pushing the ball and being aggressive just to go back to walking the ball down and playing like garbage. OT was about who wanted it more and clearly Miami wanted it more.

I know the celtics lost this game and I know they played like crap but I am so sick of the NBA. The officiating has been terrible in this series. 2 flagerants on JO (1 got recinded) and 0 flagerants on miami (1 that got upgraded after the fact). Im all got letting them play but call it the same both ways. KG missed a critical bunny in OT down by 4 and greene couldnt get the rebound because chalmers had a hold of his right hand pulling him the ground and nothing was called.

I will never lose faith but I dont know how we are going to beat this team 3 games in a row with a sluggish offense, terrible coach and playing 5v8. Not to mention we have to play in Miami 2 games out of 3. As the home team your suppose to get the favorable calls, at least Miami does.

Because Doc couldn't adjust. The simple fact that he kept leaving Davis in at the 5 should tell you all you need to know.

He failed us, time for him to move on.

Agree with this thread 100%.

Although Jeff Green was not the reason we lost, nor was the small ball. We turned the ball over way too much.

But Shaq is hurt, JO should have played a lot more.

This series is not over, but winning 3 games, against the 5 Heat players, the 3 refs, and Stern, is no easy task.

Refs had no impact on the two games in Boston. I don't get it.

I don't think we lost because of the trade..HOWEVER, if the trade wasn't made and we had Perk starting with JO off the bench we really could have used that size depth so we could limit BBD minutes.

Once again, I think we still would have lost tho

The reason we don't limit Davis' minutes has nothing to do with the trade and everything to do with Doc. JO is averaging 20 minutes a game this series. If Doc wanted to, JO could easily play at least 25 and reduce Davis' minutes to 15 (from 20).

I love how people can definitively say that the trade had no impact on this team. Just amazes me. Meanwhile, we get to look at the 39-year-old behemoth on the bench. The guy who DA was counting on to be healthy and help the C's win number 18. Maybe Perk would not win it for the Celts, but you can be sure that Shaq is not going to win anything.

The idea that a player that is averaging more fouls than points in his current series is the reason we are down 3-1 in the playoffs, with 2 losses being near blow outs, is ludicrous. It is not based on anything that is actually happening on the court. Especially when the guy we acquired in the trade has been the most efficient scorer off the bench this series.

I am just pointing out that the guy who made the trade said after the trade was made that Shaq was going to play a key role for the team and that the team was much better with Shaq at center. Do you deny that?

As for Jeff Green being efficient, he is shooting a little better than 40 percent from the field in the playoffs, It is not too hard to be the most efficient scorer on this bench, by the way.

He didn't say Shaq. He said Shaq and Jermaine. At least Jermaine is healthy, and the only reason he is not playing more than 20 minutes a game is Doc, not health.

I think it was a matchup issue. Like Webber said, when Miami goes small, you can't have a huge, slow center like that because when they run at you, you will always be playing 5 on 4 on one end of the court. Jeff Green at the 4 would have solved these problems but he hasn't been what people have hoped.

Spo is finally figuring out that Lebron at the 4 is and incredible lineup. Bad time to figure that out.

Become Legendary.

Shaq and Miami don't work with their small ball lineup

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
Anyone who thinks we would've been in a different situation if Perk was still here is kidding themselves or holding onto an Ainge grudge that they need to get over.

We are down 3-1 in this series because our big four have underperformed. KG has had one great game out of three.
Rondo has one arm for gods sake- what do you expect?

Lebron and Wade have hit some unbelievable shots and our starters have underperformed- they are old. Their legs couldn't handle the over time and Rondo couldn't help them with one arm and no free throw dependency.

We've been bitten by the injury bug and luckily for us we had a Jermaine Oneal who was arguably much more valuable against a team like the Heat than Perkins would ever have been.
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

TP sick of the Perk lovers acting like he would win us this series.

Jeff Green struggled with his shot against New York in the first round but he has been shooting the ball very well against Miami.

FG% - 52.9%
3FG% - 55.6%
eFG% - 64%

Only 5.3 FGAs per game, 2.3 threes and 67% on his 2.3 FTAs per game. 8.3ppg in only 20.5mpg. A true shooting percentage of something like 65-66%.

Jeff Green has been very efficient offensively with the shots he has been taken.

Playing good defense too but he has done a very poor job garnering rebounds.
