What should the Celtics do next season?

Should we:

a) Blow it up and start from scratch with draft picks

b) Try for a blockbuster trade to get someone as good as Dwight Howard or CP3

c) Try again with our current starters but add a better supporting cast?

d) Something else?

Some people have been talking about option C, riding the Big 3 until they are completely done but I disagree and think it's the least attractive option.

What's the point of hovering around 50 wins per season only to fall short in the playoffs? We need a bright future.

But I'm interested in your thoughts as well.

You cant trade Ray and KG.  There is no value there.  Danny doesn't want anything on teh books after next season anyway.  Im sure he'll explore Rondo + Clippers pick for a superstar but thats virtually the only option

The only real decisions to be made are what to do with Big Baby and Jeff Green

Wait and see what is gonna happen with the CBA, then draft a big man who can rebound or a scorer/shooter.  Then try again in 2011/2012.

Heck, the CBA negotiations could trim a month off the season for the Celts, which would really help them.

Chris Paul, Dwight Howard, these guys are not realistic targets.

We, the Celts and its fans, made our bed with the original Big 3.  We all knew the window would close and soon.  Just try and ride their experience into the playoffs and get lucky.

Heat are gonna be tough for the next 3-4 years, especially if they convince someone to play point and center.

Look I love the Big 3 so much but they are really starting to slow down, how can we realistically expect them to keep up with young teams like the Bulls/Heat/Thunder/Grizzlies even with a great bench?

I'm not convinced. 35 is very old in basketball terms.

If it's possible, they should try to trade for CP3 (or Dwight Howard, perhaps).

If not, take whatever opportunity they can to any kind of value for players currently on the roster.  Nobody is untouchable, including Rondo.

Too old to make another run. Package Jeff Green, fatboy Davis and a couple of other pieces to maybe get a potentially good player. Other than that, I don't have much right now.

they are going to have to ride it out with the big three. they won't get anything in trading them. play out their contracts then go after a max player

I honestly can't watch another 4th quarter meltdown anymore, it happens almost every time we don't have a +10 pt lead, the Celtics can't keep up with young legs.

This Miami team has a sub part supporting cast, no real PG, no real Center, and are still creaming us.

It's been so long since we've had youth in Boston, Danny needs to be smart and start rebuilding IMO.

I don't want another run with the big 3 only to fall flag because of injury prone players and old and tired legs.
