. . . have to be able to score in the paint.

Whatever Danny does this summer, the summer after that, and so on -- whatever he does to rebuild or retool or tweak this team, whatever the case may be -- he MUST do something to give this team the ability to score in the paint.  Shaq was supposed to do that for us, but predictably his ancient body couldn't withstand the rigors of half a season, let alone an entire season.

The Big 3 have been able to carry this team to so much success primarily with jumpshooting, it's true.  But that's because they are future Hall of Famers who are all great jumpshooters for their positions.  But now that they are nearing the end of their careers, we're seeing how that strategy is simply not sustainable.

The most efficient way to score in basketball is relying on high percentage shots inside.  The only way to have a reliable outside game is to establish an inside game.

You look at the Memphis Grizzlies, there are two major reasons they have been able to overachieve so much so far as the 8th seed:  1) they can defend really well 2) they can score inside in a number of ways.

I'm not sure how Danny can do it, but he needs to fix this team -- whether it's tweaking it, changing a couple key pieces, or rebuilding it completely.  Fixing means ensuring the team can score inside (and defend, too).
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.
