With many Laker fans being down on Pau Gasol, just for fun, would you trade for him? If so, what?

Well, it would be Rondo, right?

Nothing else comes anywhere close to matching Pau's value. It has to be Rondo (a package based around Rondo).

What does that do to the C's 2012 cap space? Isn't Pau on something like $20 million. Almost double Rondo's pay. Can they still acquire another max contract free agent?

Pau Gasol is on $19 million in 2012. Rondo is $11 million.

Pierce is $16.79 million. Bradley has non-guaranteed money, let's discount him for the time being. There is this year's draft pick + the 2012 first round pick + the Clippers protected 2012 draft pick. Let's say around $4 million in salary between those draft picks.

So the payroll (with Pau instead of Rondo) would rise to $39.79 million with cap holds for 6 empty roster spots. Say $3 million more. Roughly $42.8 million.

The current cap is $58 million. That would leave $15.2 million.

  • Rondo = Good
Yes, but who would we trade for him?
Never forget the Champs of '08, or the gutsy warriors of '10.

I would rather have Bynum , he has finally come of age.  I think MArk Gasol is better Celtics type than Pal ....another sissy ...

For them to get D12 , they will have to unload EVERYBODY , but maybe Koby.....the whole team.....as will most teams ....who seek his services.

I hope DA is planning a way to stop this D12 to LA

Completely depends on who you're talking about trading, so I can't answer either way, though I'd consider it for the right players ... or even Marc Gasol, or Zebo, or Big Al, or Love, or Dwight, or ... ;)
