I´m not a superstitious person. I don´t believe in jinxes. I don´t think that it matters how much we believe in our players. I don´t think they´re reading Celticsblog. I believe the team is always more important than a single player. I´m not sure why exactly I make this poll. Maybe I hope that I´m wrong, that how much we believe really matters. Maybe I just want to reassure myself that I´m not alone. Or crazy. Or whatever.

But I do believe in Kevin Garnett.

He is the best player on this team, and he will decide how far this team goes. Pierce, Allen and Rondo are all great players in their own right, but KG is the one guy we can´t replace, the one man who can keep this dream alive.

If there´s a glimmer of hope that we can still turn this series around and win against the Miami Heat, it´s that I believe that Kevin Garnett will not let us down. The KG I´ve seen for the last 4 years will not go down without a fight. And everyone else on this team will follow his lead.

This is not about motivation. This is not about the Celtics´ chances to win it all or your loyalty as a fan. And this is not a collective prayer to please the Basketball gods. All I want is an honest answer to a simple question, for myself, for everyone who feels the same way, and for those who don´t...

In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

TP for the topic...

To answer your question, I must know - does he still believe in himself? Year in and year out, game after game we can sense his bravado... we can feel his passion for the game... and we can see his heart on his sleeves. Now he's in a crossed road (like Duncan). He might be contemplating of crossing that road, thinking that the new pillars have ascended. Or maybe just maybe sticking on this side of the road for awhile, putting on a show which The Bill Russell can be proud of. Now if choose the latter and ask me (or I bet any of you) to Jump down/over from anywhere - a leap of faith if will - I will follow... so the answer is yes.

If I am to build a team to climb from a 0-2 hole, I would most certainly pick Kevin Garnett at #1 in a heartbeat.

If this is our last stand, then I'm sure it will be awesome.  :)

I don't know if he's the best player on the team, but the most important? Absolutely.

If I were to build a team from scratch and I had to pick from active players, KG would be my first pick. Sorry, LeBron and sorry, Kobe, when it comes to the mental, you can't hold a candle to KG's intensity.

So yes, I believe in the Big Ticket.

TP for the thread, Cas.

This team is a synegry of players, you can't really tell who's the MVP, if you looka at it:
- you can't win with Rondo not being aggressive
- you can't win with no rebounding from KG
- you can't win with Ray making no shots
- you can't win without Paul
- you can't win without a good bench contribution
TOGETHER WE STAND, DEVIDED WE FALL
what doesn't kill you makes you stronger

I think this team will go as far as Rajon Rondo takes him.

He needs to be the leader in this series. The driving force.

It'll be his playmaking + floor leadership that decides whether or not Boston's offense can compete with Miami's. Not convinced the Big Three can be consistent enough and/or efficient enough offensively against Miami's defense without Rondo creating good looks for them.

The problem is that Rondo has to play unworldly because he cannot shoot from outside and Miami can sag off and are athletic and long enough to pack it in then close out shooters and penetration.

Rondo needs to have one of those series where he is everywhere on the court, grabbing rebounds, scoring, and dishing

The good news is "unworldly" means play at a level that he's clearly shown he's capable of. Miami's tough, but teams played off of Rondo when we won the title and they played off him last year when we almost did. Not saying Miami's D isn't tough though.
