I don't think we need to make too many adjustments.

Pick up the energy level. We had a whole week off, so I can understand the rust a bit in Game 1. But in Game 2, they still looked just a step slower or didn't have the extra zip on the passes, causing either a turnover, deflection, or time for the defense to close the gap.

We may have to play zone against them. I don't like seeing Wade's floaters or LeBron dashing through the lane. Make them take contested jumpers.

And o yeah, getting Shaq back would be nice.

Establish the tone, the tempo, and Ray early.

Miami has been too comfortable this series, we have to change that.

Our bigs have got to match the energy level of Miami’s bigs.

Unleash West, and Green. Encourage them to look for their offense.

Cut down the mental lapses of defense. The weak side defense, rotations, communication etc.

Above all, I still believe we can make it a series. I don’t consider Miami a mentally tough team, if we hit back they’ll fold.

They need to pack the paint.  Miami made some great jumpers, but they won't beat you that way consistently.  We're losing because they get a layup drill whenever they want it

1) Bench Big Baby indefinitely

2) Stop walking the ball up. Speed the tempo 10 folds
3) No turnovers
4) Delonte West & Jeff Green score 25points combined off the bench.
5) Defensively minimize Green on Lebron, and Ray on Wade matchups
6) KG and Pierce stop jacking long jumpers, and attack the rim. Basically they need to play & stay aggressive in game3.
7) Play physical. Put the Heatles on their back.

I didn't have time to read your entire post. Basically, you're saying they should vary their offense, right?

Pretty much, a couple picket fences would be nice.

Here's an actual adjustment I'd love to see. Stop acting like you're in a contest to see who can commit a foul with the least amount of contact when James or Wade drive. Is the slight touch with the body or hand really necessary? Do they even know that you fouled them? Clearly this strategy is having no effect on their layups. Either foul them hard enough to knock them off their shot, wrap them up, or don't touch them.

  End rant.

  • play smarter: no more dumb turnovers or being careless with the ball.  each possession is precious against this team
  • play harder: no more lackadaisical attitudes.  hustle for rebounds and loose balls.  stick with your man on D.
  • rebound, rebound, rebound.  put body on a Heat player to keep them off the defensive board and for god-sake, gang-rebound.  it really works for the C's.
  • stop over passing.  too many turnovers due to too many passes, particularly forced ones looking for a sensational play.  if your a good shooter and have a good, open shot -- taking it is not a crime---especially if the shot clock is winding down to the end.
  • only use BBD as a backup PF, no more center.  preferably use him with a center that can rebound like Shaq or JO.  No more lineups with BBD and Green as the center/PF combo
  • give Wafer some burn if Ray is off.  Wafer's aggressive on offense and has been working on his defense.  he could be that spark off the bench and also allow Delonte to stick to backing up Rondo to keep Rondo fresher.

Find a way to play "big" more.

Extend JO's minutes the best you can.

Hope Shaq is ready to go.

30-35 minutes of true big man play, especially in the 4th quarter.

1. Make James and Wade go right, not left.
2. Own the paint on the glass
3. Get physical
4. As BBall said, either foul them so it hurts, or get out of the way
5. Attack, attack, attack, the rim. This particularly applies to Rondo and Pierce, our best slashers.
6. Don't leave Rondo on the bench ins a tight game until the 6 minute or 4 minute mark. Rest him earlier if necessary
7. Everyone head long for the rim on offense -Miami CANNOT defend the rim. You're handing them the game by launchignjump shots all night.

I do wonder if they've considered going to a zone. It'd slow down the tempo though.

i keep telling myself they cannot  continue to hit outside shots like they have been.

we would have likely won game 2, as poorly as we played, if Lebron didn't hit a bunch of jumpers in the 4th
