but Perk only had 2 points and 5 rebounds last night. He is useless and worthless at the same time. Come on, this chemistry and team leadership stuff is all a load of bull.  ::)

That load of bull is the reason we are down 2 - 0.

So, now we miss his leadership, too?

We´re down 0-2 because our big 4 don´t play like they should. The trade didn´t ruin this team. If you think so, maybe you were just suffering from delusions of grandeur when we sat on top of the league and thought the championship was already ours. In fact, watching our big 4 play, I´m glad that Danny recognized the need for reinforcements.

The fact that we traded Perk didn´t ruin anything. The fact that we only got Krstic and Green in return, who both contribute very little to the team, could be criticized, though.
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

I doubt Durant and Westbrook could have combined for 50 points in a OKC victory without the "team meeting".  Oh wait nevermind, they've been doing that just about their entire careers.
There's nothing wrong with calling a players only meeting, but to give that credit for sparking a win is going a bit far.  People really need to dig deep to find Perk contributions for OKC because he's been invisible on the floor.  The most common comment I've heard nationally (so no Boston homer comments) about Perk's positive impact on OKC is that it freed up Ibaka to play the 4.  So it's not even Perk's play that is viewed as the biggest positive, it's another player.

I wouldn't be so quick to discount the leadership and big game experience that they get from Perk. That was a lot of what Posey contributed in his year with the Celts.

Excellent comparison.  I agree with Danny that present Perk is not as good as pre-injury Perk.  Hopefully he'll get all the way back at some point.  But he can certainly help Ok. City with beef in the paint, intangibles and leadership.

Just to be clear here:  it was the Thunder players who credited the players only meeting with the win, and Perk was credited for calling for it.  Perk's leadership was praised by, among others, Kevin Durant.

This isn't Celtics fans lamenting the loss of a fan favorite.  Rather, it's the players actually playing the game who said the meeting helped.

Because the Heat are playing with a lot of chemistry right now, right?

Nice job Perk!
Celtics fan for life.

Basketball is also chemistry. Not everything can be attributed to statistics. Many times ive seen lesser players excell because of the chemistry between teammates on the court.

Is it possible that besides being a good low post defender and rebounder that Perk was a big factor in team chemistry. I dont know Perkins personally but seeing the reaction from teammates after the trade and reading the "team meeting article and also this  http://deadspin.com/#!5793919/how-these-two-white-guys-wound-up-in-this-kendrick-perkins-family-photo

my guess is that Perkins off the court was a easy going fun guy to be around. We have all been in good work situations where when personnal change it drastically changes the dynamic.

We have won games but we havnt had the same chemistry and camaraderie post trade.

Good job for Perk speaking up, you convinced your team to do something so crazy like watching film. All teams should do this...oh wait they do.

I'll say good job for speaking up, but what does that say about the coach and the team in general?

Now-trade did not kill this team, absence of Shaq, bad coaching, Rondo being injured are bigger factors that have led us to our current situation. We are lacking a big body, and we will have that body back on Sat.

This blog would be a great tool for teachers. They could show their students how myths are created and grow. It's amazing how Perk's as a player/person has morphed over the last couple of months according to some.

I say we give Perk a statue and not that other bum.

Back to wanting Joe fired.
