Celtics are getting nothing inside offensively.  They're just a jump shooting team and when the J's aren't falling it's virtually impossible to beat a top level team.

If we win Game 3, we are down 2-1.

Last year, we were down 2-1 to Cleveland after a 29-point thrashing at home, a franchise worst. Cleveland wasn't a scrub team, they were the 1 seed for two consecutive season's and almost unbeatable at home.

It was obvious before the season ended we would have to win in Miami. We still have two chances to do that. Yes they won the last three, but they were all in Miami.

I, in all likelihood, will not be attending Game 3 or 4. I will leave it to those in attendance (some of which are on this board I am sure) to motivate the C's and wake up this sleeping giant.

Give me a 2-2 series with momentum going back to Miami, and let's see who is worried then.

I fervently hope you are correct.

i think the problem that's come up with us giving home court away is that you allow their role players to start out the series confident. James Jones, Joel Anthony, Mario Chalmers, these guys are playing well.

it's not looking good, agree with that sentiment, but i think we can still take this series.

I didn't expect us to win either game in Miami.
Strange as that may sound, I had a feeling we wouldn't.
I also have a feeling we win both in Boston.
Then we play best-of-3.

Teams up 2-0 win the series something like 95% of the time.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

93 Bulls and 94 Rockets both went 0-2 in conf finals and conf semi-finals respectively, then went on to win championships.

Jones was nothing compared to his Game 1, which was an absolute fluke. Anthony is active and deflects rebounds, but so does Z. No difference to me other than Z can hit an outside shot. Chalmers and Bibby don't worry me, we just can't leave them wide open. But how many NBA guards can you?

I'm not worried about the Heat players honestly. I'm worried about the psyche of the Celtics players.

I didn't expect us to win either game in Miami.

That's where we are at now. 1-1 would have been great. 2-0 us would have been superb. But we aren't there. We aren't done. We aren't even facing elimination.

What we are are coming home to turn this series around.

Teams up 2-0 win the series something like 95% of the time.

How many times has the 4 seed beat the 1? I don't care about the past.

We need to correct a few things and have three days full days to correct it.

Game 1 we lost Pierce for the final 7 minutes. Tonight, everyone seemingly had nagging injuries.

Give me this team healthy. 1-12. I'll put these guys up against anyone in the NBA.

  • It's all about the TEAM!
If we can win game 3 we slowly start turning the pressure on them. The Heat look totally relaxed right now and they should be, but if we win game 3 we start making them feel like they need to steal game 4 or momentum is shifting back to us. We get games 3 and 4 and go back to Miami tied 2-2 and the pressure is all on them at home where they have been totally comfortable. I think this is about the only chance we've got. We must HOLD SERVE at home and make THEM feel the pressure back on their home court. The biggest game could very well wind up being game 5. I'm praying for 2-2 heading back to Miami. Admit it's very bleak right now. But if we go back to Miami tied 2-2, the worry shifts to them and that's what the we need the Heat to have. Something to worry about.

Obviously our backs are against the wall. Let's see what kind of mettle this team really has.

Champions need stones and heart. And they now need to prove they have both. It starts in Game 3.

Its all about health. If Paul, Ray, and Rondo can all go somewhat close to all-out, we're still alive. Just gotta pray that Paul especially heals up nicely for Friday.
