Game 1 was actually the first game this year where Ray scored 20+ and we lost
Not surprising. Ray is a barometer of this team. However, I think it is much more the case that Ray scoring means the team is playing well in general than Ray scoring points MAKES the team play well.
Last night, Ray not getting the ball wasn't the problem. It was a symptom of the problem, the same way Davis and Rondo taking bad shots were a symptom of the problem.
The problem is some combination of a lack of movement and cohesion of the C's offense, and just tremendous defense by the Heat. Its not like they weren't trying to get the ball in Ray's hands, and keep it out of Davis' hands. They just had no choice, because when they don't execute pretty close to perfectly, they end up having to go to their 4th and 5th options.
