Awesome.

Don't worry guys, Davis will fill the role  :-X
>:( :-X

I'm disappointed by the Shaq news for sure.  How does he go from walking normal to limping??  And what is with the thought that implementing him into a series where we're behind is too big of a risk?  The alternative to Shaq is awful.

Enough with the **** distraction. Can we stop hearing about this guy? He is done, has been done for a while. You are extremely naive if you believed otherwise.

I wouldn't read too much into this...probably just regular soreness from practice. Didn't think he would play until game 3 anyways, but we'll see.

Also from Sherrod's twitter:

Quote
Doc said Shaq looked 'phenomenal' in practice yesterday. But he 'doubts' Shaq will play tonight. Doc said Shaq was sore after the practice which featured his first scrimmage since injuring his calf against Detroit.

You guys and Sherrod are reading too much into this. Shaq has always had a limp first of all. Secondly, what do you expect after a full practice? He's got to have some soreness.

You guys think so?

Isn't it about how Shaq's body responds after the practice that decides whether he plays or not?

If he is in pain after practice, that sounds like to me that Shaq is still a fair bit away from being ready to play.

Yeah, Jermaine has got to be up around 28-32mpg in this series.

No more of this low 20s stuff. High 20s, borderline 30s.

Isn't it expected though after a full practice? His first one in quite a while no?

Of course, it's apparent that he's not ready to return yet, but I don't think he's that far off if all we have to worry about is soreness after practice/playing.

All I'm saying that seeing Shaq with a limp doesn't mean much since it could be just about anything since Shaq even when healthy walks with a limp.

Totally agree.. especially tonight since they don't play again until SATURDAY.  That's more than enough rest.  Even a tired Jermaine is better than any option we have at center at this point..

I'm slightly confused considering that 30 minutes ago Celtics.com tweeted: "Doc says Shaq looked 'great' in yesterday's practice but doubts he'll play tonight."

Yea, I saw that too. And if Sherrod's really backing that up, then I don't think the limp is a big deal, either. I won't say he plays Game 3 "for sure" like Doc claimed, but I'm not sure if this is evidence of a setback.

And before that Doc, accurately I believe, said that the real test for Shaq would not be practice but how he felt afterwards.

This still sounds to me like bad news.

I don't know anymore. I don't think we are being lied to, but I am getting very depressed about this. We need to win tonight, if we are down 0-2, I don't think having shaq is going to bring us back if he ever plays.

For the love of all that is holy, please doc please, play JO for extended minutes tonight. If I see Davis out there for big minutes, I'm going to throw my friends TV out the window(better his than mine).

We need this game big time.

I still feel good about Shaq making a return to action sometime in this series but I am a lot less confident about him being back in time for Game 3 than I was a few days ago.
