I normally can't stand the guy.  Don't watch him at all, but caught ear of this clip regarding Pierce's second T while reading an ESPN article.

Then again, while it is a rule, what kind of a rule is that?  Verbal Taunting?  Is this the NBA or kindergarten?

He says some things before and after this quote that I agreed with also.  Very much agree with this being a crappy rule and along the same lines as what Rome says about Jordan... while the original big 3 era was a little before me, didn't Parish and McHale like clothesline people in games?  C'mon Stern...

I didn't like Paul getting T'd up for that non-altercation with Wade, but I gotta say he set himself up for trouble with that face rub on Jones.  He's lucky he didn't get tossed right off the bat for that.

The reason all of you cannot stand Jim Rome is bc Jim Rome is not a sports talk show host.  Jim Rome's favorite subject is Jim Rome and the losers who idolize him.

Still, I can watch him get slammed over the table by Jim Everett all day long.  It cracks me up to see Rome try and be tough while he is about to wet himself.

From a network who trots out such brain surgeons as Jamele Hill, steven i smith, Skip Bayless, Scoop Jackson, etc as credible sports commentators, Jim Rome looks like a Rhodes Scholar as a commentator.

That whole rant from Rome was dead-on.

The Everett thing, while hilarious, looked like a badly botched skit.

Did not realize he still had a sports media career. Thanks for sharing. Never really cared for the guy but he always had his opinion and wasn't afraid to express it.

Jim Rome is one of the best interviewers in the sports media (and frankly, while he is no howard stern, rates up there with many of the best interviewers of any genre).  He is always well prepared and he probes at the right time and gets more out of the interviewee then most interviewers.  He also isn't afraid to go outside of the box a bit when doing it.  His tv show isn't bad for what it is either.  However, unfortunately his radio show is often nothing more then the "clones" calling in, which is just tedious and pretty awful radio most of the time.

Parish punched Laimbeer out during a playoff game. He didn't even get a foul called on him because the refs didn't see him do it. However, he got suspended for the next game.  Bird also punched out with Laimbeer and got kicked out of a different playoff game.

This is what annoys me the most: "He set himself up for trouble"

Instead of officials looking at 2 separate incidents they lump them together and that is just flat out wrong. They do this with every phase of the game too
