This game 1 was really frustrating.. The Celtics made a lot of turnovers, the refs made awful calls, but what bothered me more was the Miami Hype Machine - ESPN's Mike Breen, Jackson and JVG! They praise every little thing the heat do and don't seem to give the Celtics any props when they make any good plays. Especially Van Gundy, when he said that he would make a top 10 'fundamentals play' and Lebron's 70-foot fastbreak chest pass to Wade would be number 1, then i didn't hear anything when KG leveled Bosh with that awesome block!
But I was laughing when , at one point in the fourth, Van Gundy kept repeating that Wade should be complemented for his OUTSTANDING effort on guarding and chasing Ray, then Allen kept burying those threes right in Dwyane's face!  :D

yeah I usually don't care much with the comments they make during the game.

But Van Gundy saying that James Jones is a better shooter than Ray Allen now? That was kind of ridiculous. He was saying to check the numbers, and I don't know what they are but this season Ray has shot incredibly well anyway. He kind of took it back later on but still..

Then he talks about Wade's defense being so great on Allen and Ray shot like 90% and was actually the only guy playing well for the Celts.

I actually was more dumbfounded by it than annoyed.

The announcers are INCOMPETENT, plain and simple. They talk like biased fans who get exaggerate over every highlight play. Instead of an intelligent basketball analyst

I wish Hubie Brown called every Celtic game

yes and no - they were upset with Pierce's ejection - they didn't think JO's foul was flagrant, they thought James Jones foul on PP was a flagrant - so they did get some things on the Boston side

After today's game, I don't see how anyone can criticize JVG, Breen and Jackson for saying positive things about the Heat. Miami dominated the entire game.

Those guys are ignorant idiots. Lets be real here, he went as far to say that James Jones was a better shooter than Ray Allen.

They just have a mutual dis-bias towards the Celtics. And it sucks to have to listen to them. Hopefully we get Tommy on TNT we have to get used to them

Van Gundy usually sides with the Celtics in most games, so it was a little surprising today.

The refs were against us, Stern's against us, and the announcers were as well.

It was a fun ride guys I'm done with the NBA.

Yup, you're totally right
I had in my mind that I would stop watching after the Big 3 retire. Looks like I might have to do it after this season...

?!?!?!

Van Gundy is a Celtic Hater, and is the biggest Miami Hype Machine ballwasher, yuck.

The TNT crew is on LeChoke's bandwagon, as usual, and they all dream about a Kobe vs LeBaby finals.

Let them celebrate (as they did during the game) their win. The Celtics can win 5 on 8, they just need to play better, play Celtics ball.

I'm still saying Celtics in 5.

Go Celtics!!!

Haven't spent much time on this site the last year. Now I remember why. Blind homerism remains rampant. Apologies to those of you who deserve no criticism.

Yeah I agree 100%, these guys on ABC/ESPN are all Celtics haters. I turned the volume to MUTE during yesterday's game, I cannot stand these CLOWNS, especially Van Gundy as he's such a New York homer and Boston hater.

I really wish we had a better announcer for this series like Tommy. Tommy is more knowledgeable and credible announcer than all three put together. I swear, we C's fans are SPOILED with two GREAT announcers like Mike and Tommy. GO CELTS!
I believe in God, Family, and The RED SOX!

Van Gundy is the biggest idiot in sports "commentary"

he says some of the dumbest ish this side of Bill Walton... except Bill Walton was funny sometimes.

"throw it down big man!!"

Van Gundy doesn't have any of those gems. he just has a duffle-bag full of chapstick whenever he calls a Heat game.
