 But did you notice in the Playoff loss, how uninspired he played.
 
 I think Tom comes ready to play this year and here is why.
 

 Mallett's got a rocket arm, can make all the throws, and I just imagine in practice when there are both taking reps, making the same throws, to the same recievers, and if anytime Ryan is thowing the ball more accurate, or faster or deeper or anything close to Tommy he will take exeption with that, and I feel it will motivate Brady again, as he has the world at his fingertips now and he has for a while.

 It's human nature. I forgive you Tom for wanting to make love to the most famous Brazilian supermodel ever. A woman so hot that you could fry an egg on her perfect stomach.
 
 There's a new gunslinger in Town Tom.

There were no "motivating" factors here.  Brady doesn't need motivation.  He needs better protection, and a Defense that can stop the opposing QB when they are 3rd and 17.  BB decided that he would rather plan for the future than try and fill the most glaring weakness on this team.  John Clayton had a great analysis:

"The Patriots entered the draft with six picks in the first three rounds, but they made a few moves too many. They have a plan every year to load up on first- and second-round picks for the future, but this was the year to cash in. My one criticism is that they didn't get a pass-rusher. Had they drafted Jabaal Sheard, a defensive end from Pitt, or Brooks Reed, a linebacker from Arizona, I'd make them my big winners. They added three Pro Bowl defenders in the first three rounds of the four drafts previous to this, but this year they needed a pass-rusher. According to ESPN Stats & Information, opposing quarterbacks had a 103.2 passer rating when the Pats sent five or more pass-rushers. That's third worst in the league. They added a nice tackle in Nate Solder. Ras-I Dowling is an intriguing corner. Shane Vereen and Stevan Ridley are role-playing running backs. Mallett is a bargaining chip for the future. But they didn't get that pass-rusher. Instead, they worked deals that allowed the Saints to get a pass-rusher, Cameron Jordan, and running back Mark Ingram. They let the Jets get maybe the next Trevor Pryce in Muhammad Wilkerson. Sure, the Pats got an extra first- and second-round picks next year, but they need to take care of current business."

For me I wouldn't mind if the coaching staff asks Mallet for just a little help with a few things.

Like if Tom tells Ryan to carry his pads or get him water or something I wouldn't mind if a coach walks up and says "Sorry Tom. Ryan doesn't have to do that for a QB that hasn't won a playoff game in 4 years"

or the occasional amazing throw and Ryan gets to say "hey old man. Don't you wish you could do that? Next year old man. Next year you'll get to see it alllll the time."
