I still wish the Celts had a guy with the guts and toughness that Tony Allen has. And the way he plays defense...... Maybe Delonte plays that role if he stays healthy.

Me too.  Whether he is making great plays or sloppy plays, he always has that aggressive butt kicking mentality.

TA's impact with his toughness is a perfect example of how stat lines don't always measure how good or bad a player did.Tony had some timely steals, lockdown defense on Ginobli, etc.thru that series that impacted his team mates to play with more confidence.

You know what I find really interesting... when TA was a Celtic everyone remembered all his bad plays and forgot his good ones.  Now that he is a non-Celtic everyone focuses on his good plays (and saying he could be doing that for us etc), and forgets the bad ones.

He's still the same TA.  How many bad 3 point shots he take?  Did he even make any in the series?   In his return to BOS in the regular season he shot 3 airballs at the garden.  He's consistently inconsistent; same TA.

Um, he's taken 3.  Also in case you forgot he only took 5 all season in Boston last year.

TA on Westbrook and Battier on Durant?

Hahaha good luck OKC.

Like I said, Thunder in six. KD will bury them.

Who is going to guard Z-Bo? Think he'll go off on Perk like he did Bonner and Duncan?

I doubt it Perk is pretty physical and if they use Ibaka he's long.

I have Thunder winning in 5. TA will do the job on overrated Russell Westbrook though. BUT, KD will crush Battier, Battier is honestly the most overrated player in the NBA most analysts and fans act like any team hes on will instantly win a championship because of how much of a team player he is and his amazing defense!.... Battier couldnt even guard Manu, Manu toasted Battier but TA locked up Manu, like I said Durant will have a workout session with Battier.

Who the heck knows?  These are 2 teams with ridiculously limited playoff experience.  Without Gay the Thunder are a better team on paper, but Memphis is playing as good as you can play at the moment.

I have full confidence that Memphis can beat OKC in a series, and not just because they beat the Spurs and the Thunder only beat Denver.  We'll just have to wait for them to play the games.

Battier on KD is not a good match up for Memphis.
Gasol and Randolph will give the Thunder trouble.
Should be a good series. Expect TAllen to freelance off his man.

The only problem is that Tony Allen is really too small to guard 3s.  He can get away with it against a 6-6, 6-7 guy like Jeffersons, but he isn't going to get away with it against Durant.

He'd obviously be better if he was a couple inches taller but that doesn't mean he's still not better than 95% of players at guarding 3s.  Regardless of height disadvantage his ability to stay in front of his man combined with his strength makes it difficult for even the best of SFs.  Add in his quick hands and Durant will have anything but an easy time if they decide to put Tony on him in the 4th.

To some extent you're right, especially when we're talking about him guarding 6-6, 6-7 small forwards like Paul Pierce and Richard Jefferson.

However, he's 6-4.  Kevin Durant is listed as 6-9 and is probably even taller.  Durant can also shoot the lights out.  Thus, I see Tony Allen guarding Durant as a problem in this series, if he does end up guarding him.

Tony, at the very least, makes him work for his points, and doesn't allow him to get comfortable.  Case in point:
