Once more a great game thread FL . tp for you, and well deserved.

I am not sure I can even watch the game I am so nervous.  >:(

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Not sure if that was meant as sarcasm or not, but if not, no, he isn't. :(

There has, however, been almost a blackout of Shaq updates the last couple of days, has there not?  Doc spoke to the press before practice and said he might do a little on Friday, then I've seen nothing about yesterday.  Did I miss something?

Apparently Shaq did skeleton work on Thursday, and Doc was "hoping" he'd be able to get some practice in Friday. Doc said that trainer Ed Lacerte was "more confident" in Shaq's return, so he was, too. No idea what that means for the series, other than he "might play" G1, or G2. He traveled with the team to Miami, but then again, he traveled to NY, too.

So, there is a chance that Shaq will play Game 1. However, at this point I'd be more surprised if he played than if he didn't.

The lack of info on him the last few days is interesting. I have a feeling the celtics are going to surprise the heat with shaq in the lineup today.

If Shaq does play, Doc said he'd be off the bench.

I'm very interested to see how this all plays out.  There's precious little news (actually no news) about Shaq today in any of the major Boston media sites.  The C's seem to be playing this very close to their vests.  It's been their M.O. since the last series to announce when Shaq is out.  They're not doing it today.

Dropping the news Shaq is back (especially if Shaq is healthier than DA has let on) would be a big blow to the Heat today.  Here's to hoping it happens.

Or they want Miami to have to gameplan for Shaq even if he isn't playing.

I hope you're right though, the big fella would be a welcome sight.

Well, I'm not saying I even think he's back.  I just think that it's a bit unusual.

I criticize the doubters who say Shaq's out for the season based on gut feelings, so I certainly won't advocate my own gut feeling here.

However, if Shaq is out, they're going about this differently than against NY.

I'm really hoping that Shaq's injury was a lot milder than people thought and that Danny was really saving him for the Heat.  Would love to see Shaq throw down some alley-oops and flatten LeBron on a couple of drives.
