Yes, always interesting to speculate how these guys would have done earlier in their careers Green faith and good points you raise as well.

Here is my speculation on it -

KG would have the "Bird effect" on Paul and Ray, just like Bird did with the 80's Celtics.

He would have demanded it and Paul and Ray would have followed. Mostly because both Ray and Paul are, in the end, class acts. Also because KG is, like Bird, an immovable object and he's contagious.

Paul and ray are fierce competitors and they would come around pretty quick when they saw that wins and rings were for the taking with KG at the helm. Pierce would have taken a bit longer maybe.

But Pierce has always been a gamer and with real help around him he would have blossomed sooner rather than later.

Pierce really needed a guy like KG early on, much like Pippen needed Jordan.

Certain guys are born Celtics to me - Cowens, Bird, Russell - and KG fits that mold - so does Durant. It's really important guys like them find a championship home early in their careers because it's such a waste of greatness on a basketball court if they don't. Much like KG in Minny. Minny either needed to make it happen quick like with Durant in OKC, or KG needed to get out.

That is one crazy dude.  I love him.

Honestly, I have never enjoyed watching a player get so revved up. When he starts yelling and stuff it just sends shivers down my spine.

But yeah, about Bosh....that KG wannabe is gonna get an introduction to who the real KG is.

  • Boston Celtics= Championships, nothing less.
I admittedly only followed KG a little from afar while he was in Minny. With the way Boston was back in the day, I could only dream of Boston acquiring him - until Summer of 07.

When I first saw this vid, I really thought this guy was not playing with a full deck - seriously.

But Kevin Garnett is in fact Real...no fillers with this guy at all.

I loved the part towards the end - with Sheed in Detroit. Lord knows it would've been so sweet for Sheed to get one here....so close.

But back to the thread. I am treasuring these final years of our Core Four and what KG brings to the team.
so funny when he closes his eyes and pretends he's in the grass fields...funny because he's dead serious, reminds me of gladiator when Russell Crowe is dreaming of his home/family.
thanks for that one I'd completely forgotten about it.
Maybe we should start an inspirational or best celtics videos thread or something?
"We are lucky we have a very patient GM that isn't willing to settle for being good and coming close. He wants to win a championship and we have the potential to get there still with our roster and assets."

quoting 'Greg B' on RealGM after 2017 trade deadline.
Read that last line again. One more time.

Me too I cried when they were all smiling and Paul got so excited he poured Gatorade on Doc, when Eddie bounced the ball and threw it up in the air, when everyone in the Garden was singing living on a prayer, when Kevin just fell and said his infamous Anything is Possible with the interviewer and the most tearjerker part to me was when KG hugged Bill and he said, "I got my own." Man that year was just emotional all together. I want them to win another one so badly, they deserve another one and KG deserves to go out with another along with Ray and Paul and I would love to see JO win a ring. I've also seen the video OP posted about 5 times before posted on here. That video just makes me want them to win even more.

That part when he hugged Bill Russell I tear alot. It sends chills down my spine. Russell's one of my idols, and when he hugged another of my favorite players....words couldn't explain
This group deserves one more, with JO too
