I don't think his body could adjust from the cold of Boston and Minnesota to the hot of Houston.

I wouldn't want to go there. Nothing good in sports has happened for that city in a long time

They interviewed eight assistant coaches too. And who knows how many other former head coaches.

That is going to be a long interview process.

Sigh.  If he were already with the Rockets this year, we could have gotten Shane Battier for this year's first.  What might have been.

Maybe i'm being selfish, but i hope McHale doesn't get this job... really enjoy seeing him on NBATV and TNT, him and Webber are the best.

Kevin McHale is a finalist - link

Quote
With the Rockets' search for a new coach focused on three finalists - Lawrence Frank, Dwane Casey and Kevin McHale - Morey's ultimate recommendation to owner Leslie Alexander might not come down to something that shows up on a spreadsheet.
Quote
When Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is asked about the qualities he's looking for in a head coach, he almost always begins with the same simple phrase.

"A leader of men."
Quote
McHale has presence. He's 6-10 and carries himself with the confidence of a guy who was a three-time NBA champion and one of the league's 50 best players ever.

He has people skills, too, and is instantly likable and relentlessly positive. As a coach, he excelled as a teacher of fundamentals and was highly regarded by his players.

Hmm ... Lawrence Frank is a finalist too ... the Celtics might be losing another assistant coach this summer.

I hope Mchale doesnt get the Rockets job. If Doc decides to leave. Kevin would be a good head coach for the Celtics.

Yeah, I think McHale would be a good option for the Celtics too.

Gives his players great freedom + limitless supply of enthusiasm ... his players enjoy playing for him ... splash a little life and passion into a veteran team.

Rick Adelman would be a great option also.
